Believe it or not the crime rates have steady decrease within the last 10 years. But to answer your question. I would still stay in America, but moved to another place.

No.
F.Y.I.: The crime statistics for the US have been dramatically decreasing, check the FBI and Bureau of Justice crime statistics webpages. Our countries' violent crime is a lot higher than other countries', but non-violent crime such as theft and burglary are decreasing and other countries' rates are increasing drastically.

Interpol used to release their statistics on crime in Europe, but now they have mysteriously deleted their page and it's only available with clearance, weird huh?
Your scenario is exaggerated. If you live in a city where crime is so high, then I suggest moving to a better city. I would not move from the US because this is my country and nobody is going to scare me into running away. Most people have decided to move to their country of origin or up to Canada because of political reasons.

Why would I want to move period. US is the best, have a lot more freedoms than the other countries you mention. There is crime every where. As for as breaking into my house, if I am home, they will never, ever break into some other place unless they are faster than a speeding bullet. If I am not home, they will look like they been ran threw a paper shredder by the time my dogs get through with them. As for as getting mugged, same applies. I have the right to protect my family , even with deadly force if necessary, so why would I want to move. I would be a fool to even think of moving, got it to good here. In the US we have the right to protect our self and others and our property.

Why move? Crime is everywhere. I say stay and fight back. Don't let anyone push you out of your home!

I would be a lunatic like bush and stay at home with a shotgun.
I would write obscene stuff to our government official to fix things.

Why move? Criminals prey on unarmed people.
Cities with the least amount of crime have the best armed citizens.
