we broke up for about 2 weeks, he asked this girl to PROM 07, we got back together and by that time she already had her dress.he didn't want to be an @$$ so i somewhat agreed to them going together. now that its time to go, i don't want him to go. we've been argueing all day about it. he's supposed to meet this girl's parent at 11 at a certain spot, or that was the plans. but i told him i didn't want him in the car with her alone, but since he's meeting her parent, they have to be alone for about a 10 minute ride to where they are. i thought her parent could just drive the extra 10 minutes to come get her, but he says thats already the plans and they aren't changing.
what do i do? what do i say? how do i handle it?
plus, i told him if he was with her alone, then not to worry about where i was at that night.

He couldn't find an alternate date for her?? Could you get a date and double date with them or go as a group? Are you going to prom?

It seems you and your boyfriend have some communication problems.
If you had a problem with his taking this girl, you should have been honest up front and not "somewhat agreed to them going together". I say three cheers to the boy for not letting this other girl down after she purchased the dress. What do you expect to happen on a ten minute drive? And why do you feel you can dictate the terms?
Do you really want it to be over with this boy? Your ultimatum might lead to that. How to handle it - try with some dignity? Meet him at the prom with a smile, and be kind to this other girl. Its not her fault that you broke up, and think, if he can do the honorable thing for her, doesn't that make him a nicer guy than one who could let her down? How would you feel if it was the reverse and your the one who got the dress on the promise of a companion for the function?
Doesn't sound much like you two have really made much progress since your breakup. are you sure you should be together?

Prom is every girls dream. Mines came true in 2006. So why shouldnt yours be promising? Consider that you two broke up before hand, and by that time he had gotten another date. How would you like for your date to dump you after you spent $400 on a dress and $500 for a ride...thatd be tacky. If they werent seeing eachother then, then probably not now...since he knows you have the upper hand to dump him for suspicion of riding together. My point is, conserider he cannot move at your every whim, and especially around money and time invested. You both can take prom pictures together, and he meet you at the limo door--open it--take you by the hand and sweep you off your feet into the ball room. This isnt a hard situation, if you dont want it to be. Handle it like a lady...graduation is approaching and this is just a test to see how well you can handle situations under pressure.
take it from the C/O 2006

You're a bigger person than me, that's for sure. I would've waited until after the prom to get back together with this guy, rather than having my boyfriend take some other girl. But since you're already in that situation... It was nice of you to agree to him going with her since she already had her dress. After all, it's not her fault that this came around, and it's still her prom. That doesn't mean that you have to be completely comfortable with him going with her, but if you care about this guy, then you have to trust him. If all this means that you're going stag, then hang out with your friends and other people that are going alone. Don't hover over them, but I wouldn't stray too far either. Make sure she knows that he's still YOUR boyfriend, while still allowing them the space to have a good time. As far as him meeting her parents, you can't really expect them all to change their plans because you 2 have bad timing. Just trust in him. If he disappoints, then he's not worth it anyway... Good luck

Well, all I can say is that he sure did find a replacement for you pretty fast. I don't think that is a good sign of being a couple for very long. But since you agreed on him going with her you actually kicked yourself in the a@#!!!!! So basically you are going to have to deal with it, go have a good time, hang out and dance with friends and enjoy yourself because this is a very important night that you won't get to repeat.

this is incredibly immature. You need to let them go and trust your boyfriend, he hasn't done anything to warrant you not trusting him. He is doing the right thing, think about if you were this girl, and his crazy gf was being a psycho! You need to cool it before he breaks up with you again, because you're being really insecure and jealous

You were the one that let him go. To do anything at this point would only make your relationship worse.
