If you have $600-$1000 to throw away on a kit, then go ahead and try it. If all you want to see is how that machine feels in your hand; then you can find out that way. If you want to see if your tattooing skill pleases yourself and others; then don't get a kit. Lemme point this out........all of my supplies come from companies that require my license info before they will deal with me. They do this because they only want licensed professionals using the equipment they sell. Then why do other companies sell to the general public?? Because no one in the industry uses their stuff. They can only make money by selling kits (which no reputable company even offers) and supplies to people that tattoo in their garage. One flaw with kits is they don't come with any kind of autoclave. Not that you would need one to tattoo fake skin; but surely you can see the importance of having one if your gonna tattoo. This just points to the fact that they don't care about your experience tattooing.... They just want your $$. What you may find once you have the kit, is that nothing works well for you. The machine wont run right. Making it hard to use. if your not familiar with tattooing how do u get it to run right. If your equipment is bad, how would you get a fair gauge of how good you can be. Plus if it just frustrates you to use, then your not gonna want to use it for long. I'd say if you are serious about trying to tattoo, then you should try and find an apprenticeship. They can offer you solid equipment, advice on what to do at the beginning. They should have a sterile environment to use such equipment. And you would be surrounded by other art enthusiasts working toward the same goals. I guess to summarize, I don't really think a tattoo kit will give you any positive thoughts as to whether you like tattooing or not. It will bring you frustration. Good luck whatever you decide

My advise is don't even try. You are looking to mess up yourself and your friends. If you don't have the proper sterilization equipment you could even kill someone. Granted that a worse case scenario but it can happen. You're looking for a good price? How much is someones life worth or the fact you can be sued for infecting someone? My first kit (as you call it) cost me about $3,500. Is that a good price to you?

are you wanting to tat yourself? that is DANGEROUS. don't risk hurting your body or anyone else. it's bad news.

there are a few online places but i'd rather not list them... for one i don't think you're a professional and i doubt they can legally sell it to you without proof that you've had proper training and such... and two... if you're not a professional and you buy the wrong stuff imagine what you can do to someone. don't risk it.

pay money to the right people who have worked hard to get where they are. the professionals deserve it. don't forget to tip... they work hard. WOOT to you tat ARTISTS out there!

So sorry but the reputable suppliers will only sell to professionals. Get a mentor that will help an apprentice eventually get set up with the proper gear.

We don't help scratchers here.

don't do tattoos at home. they will look like crap. pay the money and have a professional do it. i know you are not a professional, because you'd know where to go for the gear.
