Yellowing of the skin and/or eyes is a sign of jaundice. Jaundice is a disease that affects the liver. You can develop it due to many other reasons besides drinking.

Fact...although its usually a more yellow/orange color. This yellowing/orangish look is actually caused by increased levels of bilirubin in our bodies. Problems can occur when the liver stops metabolizing (using) and excreting (getting rid of) the bilirubin....so it builds up...this leads to the discoloration. You do not need to drink to have liver problems. Watch out for high fevers, pale stools and dark urine.

Bile is a substance formed in the liver that aids in our digestion of food.

you do not have to drink in order to have liver disease.

you can have NASH, or a virus such as HCV.

only your doctor can really tell you whats going on with your health. please get tested for hcv-many have a slightly yellow hint to their skin after a certain issue with liver damage.

i did and my cirrhosis was only a 2.1. which is great considering i had the virus for almost 30 years!

get tested for antibodies because alt and ast levels dont always elevate with hcv infection!
