If she has any rings in her jewelry box, see if you can sneak them away. Ask a close friend or family member if they know. Careful though if she does not wear that ring on her wedding ring finger it might not be the same size. Your best bet is to have her size it later. Depending on the metal the sizing could be pretty expensive and you don't want to have to have her resize it. My fiancee did it this way and I am glad. I wore tape around it until I could get it sized (Like the next day!) Turns out my ring finger size was a little smaller than I thought. Good Luck and Congrats!

Try snagging one of her rings from her jewelery box and trace it to a piece of paper. This will give you an idea and allow the jeweler something to work with. Don't worry about it too much, the person you are buying the ring from will let you come back and have it sized. Besides, she will be too excited about the proposal and the idea of a ring, she won't be too upset if the size is just a bit too big. Congratulations!!

chances are that her mom or grandmother or friend is NOT going to know her ring size...what you want to do is take one of her rings that do fit her when she's not looking, or ask her to see her's for a moment- the point is get alone with one of her rings for a minute, take a strip of paper, wrap the paper around the ring till the paper meets, and put a pencil mark on the paper where the ends meet, then return her ring (you might also want to mark the edge of the strip of paper that you started on so you don't get confused later)...a jeweler will know how to measure the size from the markings on the paper strip! Viola!
good luck

Take her procuring and purchase her some little something. Then end by using the jewellery branch and tell her you opt to confirm what length ring you place on. point out to her that she could get her finger sized too and basically look at rings. That way you will rather plenty understand what sort of ring she would be able to like, and you will nonetheless ask your self her with a marriage notion.

Easy, if you are friendly with her mother, ask her. If not than it is hard. Most places understand that you might not know their ring size so you guess and have it sized after the ring has been given.

Good news! You really don't have to. Rings come in standard sizes - usually a 7, then after you give it to her, and in case it doesn't fit, you take it back to get sized where it was bought. Most commonly, the jewellery store does resizing free.

my fiance took one of my rings I didn't wear very often and then took it to a jeweler and found out the size that way, I had no idea. Or you could start a conversation and just slip it in. Or you could get one of her friends to find out and let you know. This usually works and she will never know your plan.

get a good luck at her fingers and try to compare it to yours.. for example, my ring finger is about as big as my fiances little pinky finger.. or asking the family is a good idea too as everyone suggested..

for my in-laws anniversary, we bought them matching wedding bands (it was their 25th and they didn't have any..) and we had NO clue about their size, so i had my sis-in-law complain to her mom that her fingers were so fat and why didn't she get skinny fingers like her mom.. her mom was like, my fingers aren't skinny, i'm an 8!! she was like wow.. what are dad's fingers then?? his are HUGE!! and she was like, well dad's is a 13.. so ya see.. it was simple as that!! you could also have someone ask her what size she is because her fingers look so tiny (if she has thin hands)

or you could always just get the standard (usually a 7) that they have at the jewelry store and just have it sized later (i'd get the insurance) good luck and congrats on getting engaged when you finally do!!

Try and get one of her rings that she already wears and take it to a jewerly store. They can measure it there for you. Just try and do all of this in a few hours so she doesn't notice that her ring is missing then suddenly appears again :-)
