I had mine tied and years later they came unloose and rejoined. Luckily it was discovered during an exploritory and was corrected.

Many factors can lead to irregular menses, such as stress, certain medications or physical illness. Given that you had your tubes tied a few years ago, it's not very likely that you are pregnant. However, having your tubes tied is not a 100 percent guarantee against pregnancy! There is still a tiny chance that you could become pregnant.
If you think you might be pregnant, it's important for you to have a pregnancy test right away. If it is positive, your doctor will probably want to examine you and perhaps perform a pelvic ultrasound. That's because the chance of a tubal (ectopic) pregnancy is higher after you've had your tubes tied. Tubal pregnancies are potentially dangerous and always require evaluation and treatment.
With that precaution in mind, chances are good that you are not pregnant. In that case, I encourage you to see your doctor for a complete examination. Be sure to bring your menstrual diary with you. Your doctor may wish to run some blood tests to check hormones and your general medical condition. The doctor may also address your daily lifestyle habits and stressors that may have an impact on your overall health. Chances are this is not a serious problem and can be easily remedied with the proper diagnosis.
The U.S. Collaborative Review of Sterilization (CREST) found the failure rate for tubal ligation (all occlusion methods) to be 1.85% after 10 years.
Of the sterilization failures in CREST, one third were ectopic pregnancies (not within the uterus).
Because of the high rate of ectopic pregnancy, women of child bearing age who have had tubal sterilization should have a pregnancy test performed if they have not had a menstrual period. If the woman is pregnant, then she should be evaluated further for the presence of an ectopic pregnancy
It also depends on whether you have had your tubes tied or cut. When they tie your tubes they use small clamps to clamp off tube, more or less squeezing it tight so that nothing can get through, however it has happened.
You best get to a doctor and be checked. Ectopic pregnancy starts usually with side pain and is emergency surgery, the best way is to have your tubes cut and cauterized, this way they are completely severed and then cauterized (burned).
Apparently, you can get pregnant if a small section of the fallopian tubes have been removed and the "ends" sealed, then the cut part of the tube COULD have healed back together, forming a tube ... again ... if a section has been removed, then sealed, chances are very low to be able to get pregnant. BUT it has happend. My best advice, get a over the counter pregnancy test, if it's positive, then see a OB/GYN.

Yes but now a days it's extremely rare and unlikely. My friend lived across the street from me and after she had 3 babies (2 girls and 1 boy) all years apart. She had her tubes tied with the last baby. Wouldn't you know it 3 years later she gave birth to her final son. But this proceedure was done the first time approx 20 yrs ago. She had it done again with the last baby and has been fine ever since. Now they cut, burn, and tie. Back then they just cut and tied, or even just tied. You have to a certain amount of tube to successfully get pregnant and now they have a better success rate. Everything gets better with time.

I had my tubes tied seven years ago and the nurse at my OB office told me of a woman getting her tubes tied and getting pregnant afterwards. She had the baby and everything was fine with mother and child. She then got her tubes tied again and got pregnant again and had another healthy baby. It does happen.

Yes. Every woman with a tubal ligation has about a 3% chance of getting pregnant every year (assuming they are not using any other type of contraception method).
However, if this happens to you you should be heading to the doctor's office pronto. It is very very common for pregnancies in women with tubal ligations to be ectopic. Meaning that the pregnancy implants in the fallopian tube, and that is very dangerous to the life of the woman.

anyone that gets a tubing or a visectomy has to wait three month before having sex with out a contraceptic. During the fist three month after the surgery pregnancy is very high.

I know that it does happen. In many cases, though, the pregnancy can be ectopic, which is a risk of the tubal ligation. So, if you know someone who is newly pg after a tubal ligation, please have them see an ob right away, an ultrasound would be done to make sure that it's not an ectopic.

Not personally. When I was having my pre-op appointment with my doctor before mine, he told me that the failure rate is 1 in 1000, and that he'd just delivered a baby who's mom had a tubal ligation (the first ever in his many many years of practice).

Yes, my sister did and ended up with a tubal pregnancy which is very dangerous. Ultimately, she had to have her fallopian tube surgically removed.
