I could be wrong, but it sounds like you dont really need to lose a lot of weight. Without knowing what your current diet is, I would suggest, you switch to Non Fat Milk, stop drinking all juices and soda, and ONly drink Water, and drink about one gallon of water a day, along with three 8 oz glasses of NonFat Milk. Cut out all Fried foods, and Fast food. Only go to subway, or quiznos if you must eat on the go. Make sure you eat breakfast every morning, (something healthy w/ fresh fruit). Only eat lean meats, NO Pork, but lean beef, chicken and turkey. Try replacing some of your grains (bread, and cereal), and istead eat more vegetables. And do your best to excercise every day. Walk as much as you can. Find something physcial that you enjoy doing, so it wont seem like so much work. You may need to try a few things before finding what fits best for you. Don't weigh yourself every day. I would recomend not weighing yourself at all, instead keep track of how your clothes are fitting you. If you must weigh in, try only doing it a couple times a month, and dont be to hard on yourself. Good luck

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

It depends on how you are built and what type of shape your going for. You don't want to lose too much weight.

At 5'8" small frame is btw 126-139
medium frame is btw 136-150
large frame is btw 146-167

Breakfast is impoortant. Breakfast should be your biggest meal. Most people don't eat breakfast and later in the night start to eat a lot to make up for it.
Lunch
Eat only vegetables with meat. Avoid eating beef. If you do eat beef. Only eat beef once a month. Eat chicken and fish.
Avoid eating rice and bread. Grapes are also very good to eat because they fool the body into thinking it is full for some reason. Drink a lot of water. This will not only help skin, but excuse me if I sound gross, but it will flush you out.
Dinner
Eat salad. There are different types of salads
Go to the store and buy a book teaching you how to cook tastey, but healthy foods. Try to include family members. If they are involved. They won't cook things that will tempt you into eating things that you shouldn't be eating.
Avoid eating after 6:00 p.m. If you have difficulty not eating.
Eat fruits or yogurt only at night. Start off easy, but your aim is 6:00 p.m. If you eat up until 11:00p.m. set your goal for 10:00p.m. and every week go down. So the following week you don't eat after 9:00 p.m. Do this until you get to 6:00p.m.

Your eating habits are not the only thing that will help you lose weight. You need to excercise. Ride bike, walk up and down stairs. Join sport at school or ask school team if you can participate in daily work out before practice, but you will get full effect if you join sport. One that requires a lot of running. Even if you're not good at the sport doesn't matter. You're just trying to be active. Jog in neighborhood. Ask mother, brother, sister to join you. You will need someone to keep you motivated when you don't want to excercise and you can be the one to motivate them when they don't want to excercise. Talking with someone while excercising helps take your mind off of excercising. Start easy and eventually your body will adjust and become use to work outs. I hope this helps. Set a goal for your self. Every week. Tell yourself that you will lose 1 pound. Another thing you can do is make yourself smoothies and put in freezer and every day drink it for lunch.

I hope this helps :-)

You're young and still developing, so you need to keep a good food intake. But cut out sugar and fat! Sodas, candy bars, doughnuts, pizza, fries....you get it. If you crave sugar, eat an apple. Also, drink a lot of water. And of course, exercise...walk, run, 30 mins (work up a sweat) 3 times a week.

The first answer is good. I would have 2 servings of fruit and 3 of veggies since fruit tend to have sugars. Get 10-12 oz. of protein into you day. 2 oz per meal.

You don't needd to lose weight . You need to turn what you have into muscle . If you are 5'8 and 160 then you are in prime shape if you had a muscular figure . Just work out and bulk up . What is the reason you want to lose weight ? in my opinion a weight drop would look sickly !

People who plan their weekly meals tend to be successful at losing weight than people who don’t. Plan your dishes to feature healthy carbs such as lovely potato and wholegrain pasta, vegetables and lean proteins, buy all of the ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to consume out or order in.

Cut out any sugar, fast food, soda, and high calorie drinks. Add water to your diet and eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Start eating home cooked meals and bring lunch from home.

Good luck
