Its not from your cat. probebly what your eating is causing a lot of it, plus touching your face a lot and oil from your skin

Can Cats Cause Acne

Your cat cannot cause acne. If you have an allergy to cat dander, then it might cause hives or eczema, but definitely not acne. Foods don't cause acne either. Acne is caused by a bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes, that inhabits the skin. It uses the oil on your skin as a nutrient and therefore inhabits your hair follicles. The white blood cells that attack the bacteria (typically at the hair follicle) are what cause the swelling. This has nothing to do with cats. Cats and foods are not catalysts for this occurence period.

This is normal. A lot of people are allergic to cats. It's either their dander or their chemicals. What I would recommend doing is to train the cat to sit and sleep at certain areas only. Vaccuum a lot, separate the laundry and continue to wash your hands, face, wherever you may come in contact with the cat. Another thing you can do, it will take a year before you'll see if it will work or not, is the allergy shots. It's a once a month routine which usually works.

I'm so sorry with what you're going through. I was allergic to my Beagle, but not to my Chiweenie. All of them have different chemicals. Sadly, I'm allergic to my favourite dog I've always wanted: French Bulldog. :-\

Hope this helps!! ^__^

I heard that just touching your face period causes acne. Think of it. You touch SO MANY THINGS every day, and putting that on your face definitely pollutes your skin/pores. If your allergic to cats then you can get hives by just being in the same room. I read about how touching your face causes acne in my health book so i wouldn't doubt it for a second.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

since you didnt mention your age or whether you may be going through puberty, YES YES YES>>>>>>cats carry all kinds of mites and dander and just parasites that eat in to your skin....However, enviromental changes, diet, stress, and medications can be a cause. As a Mary kay Represenative I have made skin care my passion, my advice to you is to take all of your sheets and pillow cases off of your bed, get something like febreeze anti bacterial spray or lysol and spray your bed down let air dry and do it once more. (Try at least twice per month). You spend more time lying down in your bed so you are a buffett for these parasites. Wash your face at the very least 2 times a day...I recommend using a cleaser thats suited your skin type (dry/normal/oily), moisturize moisturize moisturize....use a scrub at the most once a month and some type of deep penetrating mask once a week. Drink plenty of water, take a multi-vitamin, and keep the cat play at a minimum. If you do pet your cat DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE....wash your hands or use hand sanitizer....and its going to hurt a little at first...NO MORE SLEEPING WITH THE CAT ...you have millions of dead skin cells that shed every night you dont need your cats too...if all else fails and after about a month you dont see results....i recommend see a dermatologist, a prescription may be necessary.
