First of all, don't sweat it out. One of the last things you want to lose from your body is water. Do these three things and it will start you off beautifully. You'll just melt fat.

1.) WALK MORE!! (I was at 140lbs. and I dropped 10lbs. in one week walking 14miles round trip twice a week) Carrying a drink with you is nice, water or non-concentrated juice is nice. NO SODA.
2.) DO NOT eat fried, greasy, baked, and/or oily foods. Only eat one SERVING of sugar once a day ONLY (this includes any desserts that has sugar, icing, corn syrup, etc.). No other sugars allowed. If anything, I'd recommend 72% dark chocolate as it does wonders for the blood.
3.) Eat less meat, meat in general makes you sleepier and slower in your activities. Eat more, hate to say it 'cause it sounds so cliche, but is highly true: eat more vegetables (again, no frying or baking) and fruits. Raw would be the best, but not all vegetables can be served that way of course.

Hope this helps and have fun!! Most of all, have a great attitude and keep in mind of how great you're going to be and feel when you're done. ^__^

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

south beach diet works. but dieting can only get you so far. I know it sounds really hard for a college student, but instead of eating fast food or junk around the dorm, buy celery and eat it plain or with lettuce. I love asparagus. Greener foods are better for you. But you also have to start exercising. If you start out by walking like power walking, and build yourself up to running it will help alot. But you have to be dedicated. You have to have the mindset of being strict. You can't think its alright to let yourself go. 3 and a half months is more than enough time to loose 50 pounds but you have to want it more than anything. Start buying healthy food, instead of junk. And when you work out, the more you sweat themore you lose. So wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt on top of shorts and a t-shirt while going for a walk or run.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

Eat according to a strict food guide for losing weight, exercise at least 45 minutes every day, don't eat after 6 pm and drink tons of water.
