I'm Christian and I don't think it's offensive. It does make me feel a little angry questioning one's religion, but y would you want to know? You don't have to answer, but i'mjust wondering why. If i went into your personaly privacy by asking that I'm sorry.
The libraries put all bibles and religion books in the non-fiction section. If it's in the fiction that would be an insult.
Some libraries don't even have bibles! It just makes people confused, and angry.

It's not offensive. It's just dumb.
Under the Dewey Decimal system of classification, Bibles are in the 200's -- Religion.
Library of Congress subdivides their Bible category into the following sections: complete Bibles, Old and New Testaments, Gospels and Acts of the Apostles, Epistles, Revelation, and Apocrypha.
In both cases, the designation is Non-fiction.

There are libraries that put them in fiction section because the librarian is either unchristian or is afraid to be fired out. Fiction or non-fiction should not make any difference. Airplanes and spaceships were fiction before now they are real. The Bible is non-fiction to those who understand, but fiction to those who do not or those who have not even read it.

Not fiction but facts.
Maybe you could use it as a test, ask someone to go get the Bible from the library.
If they seek in fiction, chances are, they are either not Christians or they can't read signs.....

What is so offensive about your question? It is simple, clear and direct; is the Bible fiction? It's not fiction if you believe that god make all things out of nothing in six days than needed to rest. If you believe god had sex with a virgin human and gave birth to himself.
I'll go with fiction for now but may change my mind if there is an overwhelming body of scientific evidence to the contrary.

silly its in the religious section of the libery. You know where all the religous books are lepted, right next to the book about the bible code. LOL.Oh yea and the book about how the bible can be proven tobe wrong because there is no artifacts (arceology) and writings from other civilizations to back the bible stories up.

I believe you find it in most all sections like stores, washateria, schools, all over the place, lots of other places in the library as well. No this is not an offensive statement.

Non fiction with all the other religious texts. Call number 220 for Old Testament & 230 for New Testament in the Dewey Decimal system.
