About 1500 years. Christian is someone who believes in the words of the Nicene creed. Or at least that Jesus was the son of God and that he died and rose again. And they want to follow his teachings. To be a Christian also meant being baptized into the Church, or body of believers which we call the Body of Christ. You were 'saved' by your baptism into the death and Resurrection of Christ. This was the way that it was for 1500 years. Then came the rebellion, also called the Reformation. From that came churches with a philosophy that all one has to do to be 'saved' is to confess that Jesus is Lord and accept Him as their personal Savior and by so doing they will go to heaven when they die. They call this a 'born again' Christian.
The born again Christian also look only to the bible for guidance and often take it literally. Other Christian groups follow the idea that the bible along with the oral traditions of the Church and reason are what guide us. Also the ones who push religion on others are the Born Again Christians, because they feel that it is their duty to save you from hell. They mean well.

It's not the same. Born again christians have sold out for Jesus. Jesus said a man must be "born again" to enter into the kingdom of heaven. We live our lives the way the bibles says too. We believe in speaking in tongues and the fruits and gifts of the spirit. We don't pick and choose from the bible what suits us best.
Christians just aren't as gung ho about it. Read your bibles Jesus was a fanatic...a born again fanatic..

If you ask someone what their religion is, and someone says Christian....it could mean they are going to church and not reading the bible, it could mean their parents are Christian but they really dont do what the bible says, it could mean they know the bible and really do what it says being a true follower of Christ, the range is large from fake Christian to real Chrisian....a person who says "born again" is usually someone who actually read John 3 which talks about being born again and is probably a true Christian.

There is only one Almighty God, Jehovah. Jesus does have a very special relationship to the Father. He is the only begotten son, the son of God. 1 John 4:9 says "By this the love of God was made manifest in our case, because God sent forth his only-begotten Son into the world that we might gain life through him." Jehovah's Witnesses have always taught this. Never is Jesus' position undermined.

They are the same. You cannot be a Christian unless you are born again. To say "born again Christian" is just to emphasis your belief. No one is born into Christianity by natural birth. Just because your mom/dad/grandma is a Christian that does not make you a Christian. And going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger(a fun quote from the late Keith Green) Everyone has to make his/her own decision about Jesus. BTW ..if you choose not to make a decision, your decision is NO. Jesus ..who is God's Son, lived a perfect life without sin. We are sinners by nature. He allowed himself to be nailed to a cross as a sacrifice for our sins. We accept His death as payment for our sins and pledge to live our life for Him...that's what being a Christian is all about.

A born again description is just more descriptive than just saying Christian. All "Christians" are born again.

If anyone tells you that they are the same, DON"T BELIEVE THEM!!!!! IT'S A COVER-UP!!!!!!!!
"Born Again" aka: "NEW Baby in the LORD" -returning from nearly a lifetime of sinning. Or they are NEW to Christianity and have absolutely NO IDEA about this evil cult.......
"Christian" - anyone can call themselves a Christian if they believe; generally these oldies are NOT goodies! They are the ONES TO HATE! They are "The Hypocrites".................
They don't live or act like the born again Christians. They are the lazy ones who judge others, backbite, gossip, complain, steal, lie, commit adultry, they know how to quote scriptures off the top of their heads and use the bible to bash others.
They go to church occassionally. They know all the songs, they know how to act in church, they will even stand up in front of the church and preach on Sunday!
These Christians go out and do things like Timothy McVeigh & Jeffrey Dahmer. You will find them in a Tittie Bar having a beer on a late Sunday night following service. Or if it's a female, she will be in the guys car who came to church as a guest, f***ing him in the back seat of a car...... "THEY CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS TOO!"
Only befriend the NEWBIES! TRUST ME!!!!!
GEORGE BUSH CLAIMS TO BE A CHRISTIAN.
MORMONS CLAIM TO BE CHRISTIAN.
THEY WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE EITHER OF THE TWO!
Stay far away from the LIARS Don't believe anything they tell you!

If you have received Jesus, you have received the life of God, and you are a born again Christian. There are also Christians who have not received Jesus, or never prayed to receive the Lord.
