Someone not born right the first time. lol.

Actually it is a Fundamentalist thing. They accept Jesus as their personal savior and this is the event that they say causes them to be 'born again'. The more traditional churches follow the ideas that were there from the beginning of the church, which is that it is in the process of water baptism that one is born again by water into the death and resurrection of Christ.

a born again Christian is a Christian. 'Born Again' refers to the concept of leaving the old life behind, and starting a new one.

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ was born, lived, died for our sins, and rose again. His teachings are recorded in the gospels (and more broadly in the Bible) and guide the way a Christian lives. His resurrection from the dead gives us hope of eternal life.

Some bible references to look up: (if you don't have a bible, try http://www.biblegateway.com)

John chapter 3 - this is where the born again terminology comes from, Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born again to see the kingdom of God- and when Nicodemus asks how it is possible for a grown man to enter his mother's womb to be born again, Jesus explains that it is a spiritual birth, not a physical one.

On believing in Jesus, it is as if our old selves were crucified with Christ, and now have new selves, which don't live the same sinful lives of the old self.

a "Born Again" Christian is also a slightly corny term used in the past to refer to someone who is a Christian of their own decision. We don't often use the phrase today.

Now, there is only so much information you can get off the internet, I encourage you to find a church, they should be more than happy to answer your questions.

A Christian that has been born again, not of a flesh but of the Holy Spirit, hence Baptized.

Baptism is a statement to the public, that you acknowledge Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

The Baptism itself, is one of two signs Christ has given us (the other is The Lords Supper)

When a Christian is Baptized, he/she is immersed into the water, which signify the death and burial of the "old sinful" life, just like Christ died on the cross for our sins.

When you come out of the water, you are born again, as a cleansed Christian (your sins has been taken over by Christ, and His righteousness has been imputed to you)

This is very important, since we, sinners as we are, need Christ as our mediator to God the Father.

God is just, God is rightious, and He can not turn a blind eye to our sins, it must be punished.

Christ took our sins and payed for these sins with His own blood. By living a life for Christ, with Christ, through Christ, you will not have to pay for your sins by yourself.

Note, the Baptism itself is not a process that will save you, but a sign of your obedience towards God, by acknowledging Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
A public statement, a beginning of a long journey towards The New Jerusalem (Heaven)

A Christian does not seek to avoid his deserved punishment, but seeks only to Glorify God. By having your goal set straight, an strirve to fulfill it, you will recieve the "benefits" of being Saved.

Soli Deo Gloria
To The Glory Of God Alone

A born again Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

When a person comes to the point in their life when they acknowledge God as perfect, holy, and righteous and they have sinned as separated them self from Him.

They all at once become very grateful for the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, then they repent, and accept the salvation offered by God.

Voila....born again.

To become a born again Christian, you have to hear and believe the Gospel of Christ. Then you have to repent of your sins, and confess before men that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and be baptized (immersion only). Faith must always precede baptism.

A lot of people whose cars will be out of control during the rapture, or so their bumper stickers say. My bumper sticker says, "Christians, can't live with them, can't feed them to the lions anymore"!

But in complete honesty they were half baked before and being born again makes sure they are completely cooked!

Physically we both know you can not be born again but spiritually you can. It is saying Jesus I want you to be Lord of my life and please forgive me of my sins thank you for dying in my place. When someone prays this with sincerity of the heart, God reach down an cleanse you from all your sin meaning you are spiritually reborn. Then the person needs to continue in faith continuing walking with Jesus by learning to trust and obey.
Basically spiritual rebirth is something God does when you accept what He has done for you.

Someone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and trust that the finished work on the cross was enough to buy their pardon and has turned away from their old life of sin and toward Christ. Bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus.
