so i have no morals, just cause I'm consider atheist because i do not go to church or temple. so my morals of believe that if i am kind to other by help, by listen to them or cheer them up to make them better. To give to less foruanate. Try respect others belief and not focus my own belief on to them. For tolerance to me is you expect that the person believes in whatever the choose but you do not have to agree with them. so not consider good person.

I'm not a fan of atheism. My problems work with in in three basic categories: philosophy, theology, and ethics. Theology is obvious, and I don't dislike everyone I disagree with on that subject (I have gotten along with Buddhists just fine; In fact, I converse with one whenever I can get to church, because she runs my favorite restaurant). Even with my rather strong misgivings I have had atheist friends as well (we squabbled a lot over religion, but we could get along).

On the philosophical level, I haven't the room in order to put the arguments up here, so I can understand why this won't carry much weight. In short, I find atheism negates all possibility of knowing truth, and if it negates that, then it cannot be considered rational. It is an irrational philosophy most often driven by a strong dislike of religion or an unhealthy focus on the material world, hence the unbridled skepticism of all religions.

On the ethical level, atheism requires materialism. To quote an online book I read once, "ethics must follow ontology" which bodes ill for any sound ethics within it. Ethically, atheism cannot make any distinction between a potted plant and a human being, between life and non-life. We are the same stuff, driven by the same material processes, and there is nothing loftier or higher in us than a dirt clod. Is it any wonder, then, that every atheist regime in history has been brutal, and the worst of the pack worst than any religious regime (e.g. no Islamic government, Inquisition, or anything can beat the slaughter under Stalin).

Those three reasons lead me to dislike it. Atheists are in the minority, and they have no power, so they must be peaceful. I want it to stay that way. I never want to see it hold unbridled power again so that it can work out those principles (with the exception of N. Korea, other Communist governments have had to mitigate themselves, thank God).

I have no problem with athiests, I respect their beliefs, and I expect the same respect from them. Sometimes I get it, sometimes not.

I think on both sides, people just need to stop this impulse to make everyone the same as they are. If someone believes something different, then that just demonstrates that our spiritual beliefs are our own to form in any way we choose. That is why there is the posibility to be saved in the Christian religion-- because it is a concious choice to make. If someone doesn't make that choice, hating them isn't going to make them want to.

There is nothing bad about atheist as they are created in image of God. Just because atheist has the different worldview then a Christian, is not a reason to hate.

I would not agree that an informed Christian does not know the other person (Atheist) side of story. Atheist worldview is diametrically opposed to the Christian worldview. That’s where the conflict is between an Atheist & a Christian.

I don't hate atheists. Oh there are a few that I really don't care much for, but I think some of them are just here for the attention or are just children trying to act grown up.

Not all that long ago, an atheist named Kelsey (here on this site) answered a question specifically asked of Christians. Her (I assume) answer was very kind and understanding, and even answered the question. In fact, I know a couple atheists in my real life. We are fairly good friends, have a few laughs and talk about a great many things - even religion.

I believe that atheists are mistaken in their lack of belief, but I wouldn't HATE just for the sake of HATE. That is just wrong.

wow after reading your sayings,i just like to give you same pinch. You have the same philosophy of life as mine.Me too,i prefer to help others than to go the temples.I would rather give my life in helping others than to chant or recite a prayer.I have always been very kind and generous to others and i am always eager to help those in need. And i dont care if the god is happy or sad with me.truly i believe in doing good because its my philoshophy and not that there is god to watch me.But since we dont follow as others,we arent considered of this planet but i am fortunate enough to have some people who respects how i feel. For this reason,i truly respect and honour you as besides me,you are the second person i know now with the same belief as mine.N i just wanna tell you to keep it up as the world needs people to act and not people to pretend.all the best.

There's nothing at all wrong with being Atheist. People have every right to choose what they believe.

And they certainly have a right to post here. It is not the 'Christians only' section, contrary to popular belief.

I do not know anyone who hates atheists. I personally feel sorry for them. There is no point to life. There is no power greater than yourself to help you. You can have your opinion. I think you are overreacting or overgeneralizing. Maybe you hate God believers.

There is nothing bad about an atheist, for they are on their own spiritual journey of discovery. It is not for me to imply or forced my will upon them.

Everyone has a God-given right, to progress on their spiritual journey in their own way.

its not that i dont like them its just that its disappointing watching people who dont know what they are getting in to. its just like watching someone walk over a cliff and you cant do anything about it because they wont listen to you; they cant see the dropoff, they think there's a bridge there. i guess thats as close as I can get. its just sort of a dispair/agitation. pity.
