The first thing you can do is to have a homosexual relationship with someone else and then you can explain how being gay is a choice! Unless you can do that you don't stand a chance of convincing him that homosexuality is a choice.

There are more young gay people commiting suicide today then ever because they cannot understand why they don't have the sam e feelings as others. By trying to make them be something that they are not will lead to child molestation, chemical addiction or a total mental break down. Look what happened to that leader in the Christian Family group... he went for counceling, but they asked him to leave. I wonder why?

Nothing is wrong with this child that a little family understanding wouldn't help.

We all have a conscience that helps us to distinguish right from wrong. Unless he has ignored his conscience for too long (unlikely for a 14 year old), he already knows homosexuality is wrong. Therefore, one important method is to encourage him to think about what his conscience is telling him and to trust it. The more our actions fall in line with our conscience, the better we become at distinguishing right from wrong.

Well, for starters pray, and I'm prayin here with you too. I've had to tackle situations, and I know how hard it is.
You can start with explaining how Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Adam and Eve together made a Holistic representation of what the God head is. The concept of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, being 3 and 1 at the same time is difficult, im sure for even the angels, to grasp. So God created man and woman, two seperate beings that were one, at the same time.
Genesis 2:24 (NKJV) " 24Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." That close knit relationship a man and woman have, which is bound by love, which is God (1 John 4:16 (NKJV) "16And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."). Now satan tries to duplicate everything that God makes, so Satan sees man and woman in this holistic Image of God, and hates it. So he proposed to mimic God and make something in the disfigured image of himself. Now satan denies God, and everything about Him, denies Gods power, Gods love, Gods justice all of that. So he distortes the holistic image of God and creates a counterfiet that denies Gods power. When two men, or two women, try to come together as one flesh, it doesnt fit. It doesnt work, and it denies the image that relationships were suppose to reflect. Basically instead of reflecting the image of the perfect, pro-creationist God, it reflects the distorted, incomplete, tainted image of the anti-creationalist( the devil cant create new life just as homosexuals cans) Devil. Now that should be good enough, but you can also try this, Leviticus 18:22 (NKJV) 22You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

I dunno if you're trying to get a rise out of some people..But you and I both know "Homosexuality" Is not wrong. They're people, Like you or I or..Cher..And You should love him and support him no matter what, And the sooner the world realizes this the best of we'll be =D God didn't even make the bible, I have no idea why people follow such a stupid passage. No offense to anybody. Plus when you say that god is "Sending you to hell' If you lie with a person of the same sex, It gives god such a bad name. Use the argument that it is un-natural. If everyone was homosexual the human race would die off in a generation. The human body was designed for heterosexual sex, and homosexual sex can have health risks.

Use the ethical argument. God, the ultimate authority, says He detests homosexuality multiple times in the bible. In an islamic country, I beleive they will kill an openly gay person.....not that killing someone who is gay is ethical....better not use that one.

Look at homosexuals in the news. They are generaly people of low moral character ruled by their own deviant desires.....not people to be emulated.

If you have even a drop of compassion, leave the kid alone. It is no doubt already blatantly obvious to him that this screwed up culture is bigoted against him. He doesn't need additional guilt trips that will probably take years of therapy to undo.

And be aware: you are much less likely to force him to stick to heterosexual relationships than you are in convincing him that your God is unjust. You will probably push him away from your religion if try to teach him it is wrong.

It'll depend on how logical he is. Point out the biology of it, the health risks, the shortened life expectancy, the disease rate, the mental and emotional stress, and the scarring both physical and mental that goes with it. But if he's determined and swallowed all the rhetoric, he's going to have to find out the hard way - disease, abuse, emotional trauma, the whole nine yards.

you can't persuade anyone that it is wrong anymore than you can convince someone that it isn't.

it really isn't wrong you know. if this fourteen year old believes that he is gay you are only going to make him feel bad about something he has no control over.

maybe instead of that you could be supportive and let him know that you will love him no matter what. that's what really matters isn't it?

Imagine the opposite scenario--you are 14, you are finding girls interesting, but everyone around you says sex with girls is disgusting and immoral. What would convince you that everyone else is right? (Leave the Bible out of it. He's probably already aware of it.)
