I am having a baby in october, I am 6'3'' and about 300 lbs, I want to lose weight and shape up by october because there is certain kind of photography (artistic) that needs the dad to be shirtless in the picture and I won't do it otherwise, if I can shape up I will, but if not possible I might as well just take my time to lose the weight... (That and I hope my wife gets back into sex... )

well first yeah of course you can lose weight and shape up in six months, but be realistic it will be close to impossible to have a models body that quick. First start excersising 60-80 minutes of cardio 6 times a week. Stop eating junk food and high calorie meals. Eat lean cuisines. Stay under 2000 calories and you should lose at least 40 pounds.

Wrong. Here is what you can do. In 6 months you can safely lose 60 lbs. That is 2.5 per week which will mean that the weight will stay off. This is why starving your body does not work. First do the gym 5 days a week. You should be taking in between 1800-2400 Calories a day. Do 45 minutes of cardio man. IE Treadmill warm up 5-15 minutes. The next 30 minutes do a fast walk for 3 minutes then run for 1. The idea is to do short bursts of intensity instead of continous running. You should also be lifting weights. Muscles burn calories. You should also be taking in 109kg of protein a day based on your weight. You might want to consider getting a personal trainer. Good luck. Last but not least. Small portions through out the day. No more 3 meals. Now it needs to be 7 or 8. Fill in the gaps with small snacks. If your hungry eat. Cut out soda and drink lots of water. You can do it if you start now. Good luck.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
