Jail sucks, but you'll be fine. I know this sounds bad, but 48 hours really isn't that long of a time.

Inmates tend not to bother DUI people.

Advice? Don't get mouthy or give attitude to anyone, don't disrespect anyone.

I've never spent time in jail as an inmate but I spent hours visiting clients in jails for years. Hang in there and don't act too scared. You'll be fine.

County jail is really nothing. Most of the people there will be DUIs, assaults, forging checks, that sort of thing. Prison is where the bad boys go and if the county jail is holding any, they usually keep those guys off to themselves. It isn't concidered good practice to put a DUI in the same area as a bank robber or rapist.

You should be fine.

Ours is very overcrowded.
Keep your mouth shut, keep to yourself, and do as you are told. You will live through it.

edit: I didn't mean to sound rude. But that is the best advice I can give you.
Just chill the whole time and go with the flow. Be as agreeable and respectful as possible to your cellmates and the guards.

I spent 24 hours a few years in the county jail.

You'll be fine, it is safe. The food is terrible, plus you gotta take a shower with a bunch of guys.

It depends on the county. You may be in a cell alone, you may not. You may have to go out and work during the day, you may not. You'll probably hate it, you'll probably survive. If you have a shred of intelligence you won't ever go back.

I'm sure it depends on the city. If it's po dunk ville I'm sure you'll be fine, if it's in some major city I'm sure you'll be fine. Jail is different from prison, so as long as it's jail just do your time and mind your own business, don't talk to anyone and for goodness sake don't DRINK AND DRIVE EVER AGAIN. You should be glad your alive to go to jail and you didn't kill anyone. Learn your lesson and move forward. I actually think it's a crime that you only have to do 48hrs, it should be months.

I only had to stay overnight but it is sooooo creepy and the chics have hairy legs and they wake you up at 5 am and give you hard nasty eggs and mild instead of coffee and a cigarette. It was a nightmare.

The first and only thing you need to know is that the officers are really there to protect you.
The only thing you need to worry about is what you did to get yourself into this predicament.
