Read the Rule of St. Benedict. It tell you the steps of humility.

I will look for a link... here it is:

Read chapter 7.

Being humble only means that you know who you are before God. You know yourself as God knows you. It does not mean beating yourself up. I agree with you that all are God's children. I am not a Calvinist, and by the sound of things neither are you.

i belive u should totally be open and respect ur friends belief at they same time they have to do the same for u. now i dont think being total submissive ot the truth is humble because what u think may b the truth sometimes isn't i do believe what u believe. in God and i kno where i stand so when ppl bring there religions up i just listen to what they have to say" being humble". have u tried talknig to ur friend about ur religion if so then and have the y listened if so then u both should beleive what religion u think is right but respect each others religion . i can tell or anyone that u r being humble about the situation because you took heed of what he told hpefully w/o arguing =^)not proud or arrogant; modest. i hope u dont let ur friend change u so easily. go with what u feel; in ur heart. i hoped this helped

Wow. What a GREAT question. I ask myself the same thing often. Just you asking this question must be pleasing to the Lord as you desire this thing. I find that when I feel my pride levels going up, I just increase my scripture study and the Lord, through the scriptures, has a way of putting me in my place and humbling me. "Blessed he who humbleth himself and the Lord doesn't have to" sorry, i was paraphrasing it, can't remember exactly how the verse went. Try that and I hope it works for you. Excellent question!
