I'm only 14 years old and everyone tells me that my hips are HUGE. I measured myself today and they were about a 39. I'm 5'6'' and I weigh 133lbs. The thing is, my grandma has huge hips so I think I might have picked up the gene. I mean don't get me wrong. I love my hips. It's just that everyone thinks that they are huge. Plus I'm very skinny. What else is there for me to resort to??? I guess I'm asking, ''How do I control the growth of my hips?"

The average woman is only 5'4" and has 39" hips, so you are already below average in size[width ]. They might look big if you are very thin.
Guys usually like curves, and these are a good size for delivering a baby someday.Just because your grandmother has 'huge' hips doesn't mean you will. You get genes from all your parents and grandparents. Keep your weight in the normal range and you won't get huge hips.

Stretch side to side.
Whats wrong with big hips atleast you got some curves.
Also you can make your hips look slimmer by going for dark-coloured jeans with a straight leg, boot cut or flare. The new style of jeans with a lighter patch down the centre of the leg can also make your legs look slimmer.

Had the same problem in my teens - 5'6" - 36/26/and a whopping 38! Sorry to tell you, but for now, you'll just have to tell everyone who "bugs" you about this issue, to bug off. One good thing is, once your body matures, everything evens out, and you will appreciate every inch of your curves. Give it time though. Don't think about it too much - concentrate on enjoying your teens.

You can't do much about the actual width of your hips...I'm pretty slim and I've got fairly wide hips...has nothing to do with weight, but how much your pelvis widened at puberty...some women's pelvises widen more than others. My mom used to call them "child bearing hips" LOL

What you can do is watch your weight and stay in excellent shape...that way you don't wind up with a big butt and thighs, which will make your hips look much wider.

First of all, having big hips is a good feature...i am sure alot of women would kill for good hips you just need to keep them fit.

I sugest you do exceircise regularly and especially work for your hips. you do not need to go to the gym for this

Best excercise for your hips:

find a two feet tall step and put your left foot up with the knee bent on top of the step and then bring your right leg up as if you are kicking but point your foot down. keeping your equilibrium bring your right leg down and repeat...if you can do sets of ten on each leg. switch legs after each set of ten.

this would keep your buns nicely firm and keep your hips tamed.

Its a gods gift for you,& thats the real beuaty of womens,I realy love such kinds of figures,you are still very young so you need to maintain your figure,So just try not to eat&drink all fatty food stuffs, like any creamy soups potatos cheez&butter/oily stuff chocolates etc,avoid soft drinks,Eat more fresh vegitabls&fruits,Eat meat stuff twice a week? max 5-6 oz per time,But steamed fish is better, you can eat fish every day if you like? not those oily fish like cod/blackcod,Try exersice atleast 15min for a day, you willbe perfect &evergreen,Remember?dont forget allways to be proud of your hips!!!

Don't worry about it!! You are a little too young now, but did you know that men are naturally drawn to a women with wide hips??!! That is because you are a very potential person to mate with!! I mean later of course!! Men don't even know that themselves!! You are good baby making material. Now , don't you go having any babies!! Promise?? You have loads of time for that!!!!

I'm 13,5'6, and 140 lbs.
Be happy with your body.
Wide hips & thighs are in.
You don't wanna look like
those model chicks that are 25
and only about 83 pounds.it's unhealthy.
If you really don't like your body go to the gym.
But you sound normal to me.The only problem I
have is some Double-D's.

Think of it this way. You're saving the life someone sufferring from bulimia or anorexia. They will need to gain weight in a healthy manner.
