My church (yes, a megachurch) has debit card machine, it's not actually an ATM. It may not sound good to the uptight, religious people but leaders are realizing people don't carry around cash and checkbooks like they used too. People are able to give their tithes and offerings, I don't see anything unbiblical about this. The moneychangers and den of thieves incident was about corruption and buying and selling in the church. It seems many people think bringing anything modern or contemporary into the church is blasphemous. You can only give to the church with this machine, it doesn't dispense cash, so all you can do is give to the church. An actual ATM is a bit more dangerous, people can take money for whatever they want, but I think my church made a good decision. In some ways, many churches need to keep up with the times. As long as it doesn't contradict scripture, we don't have to live like we did 100 years ago.

No, there is not an ATM in my church, and there never will be. I've never personally seen an ATM in a church, but given some of the mega-churches in this area, it wouldn't overly surprise me, either. Somehow, a certain Biblical passage about Christ overturning the moneychangers' tables in the temple comes to mind.

I could see it happen, especially with Church's as big as Joel Olsteen's.
With a Mega Church, they offer alot inside. Some even have their own coffee shops and book stores.
It'll be a sad, sad day when the pass the Visa machine around instead of the collection plate.

I really dont think so. It depends on what kind of church but the whole meaning of MY personal religion (Catholic) is that money and material things arent of worth...so an ATM would be out of the question! I dont believe it!

I've heard of mega churches having them. So much for throwing the money-changers out.
