No I'm not a thief, but where is a good place to put your keys.
Obviously you don't want them stolen when you enter the water.

My swimsuits always have a pocket.

Sometimes, it is just one of those flap pockets inside the swimsuit. Your keys cannot fall out. You can also take the strings from your swimsuit and thread your keys through the loop and tie a knot.

Best solution: swimsuit with a zippered pocket.

(when I used to go to Brazil.... about 20 years and 30 pounds ago, I wore a Speedo. To hide my keys and money, I bought one of those plastic tubes with the string loop so you can hang it around your head. When I'd go swimming, I'd bury it in the sand and retrieve it afterwards. No one ever stole it.)

I usually put them inside my bag... I try to keep an eye on my things but obviously when you're having fun in the water and swimming around its kinda hard.. But in the back of my mind i do get worried about not only my keys but everything else i bring with me.... If you go on groups you can take turns or you can kindly ask someone around to watch your things... I don't but if you sit next to a 'nice family' then that's probably safer.

i live on the gulf coast in texas. we go to the beach a lot. generally, we meet or go with family and or friends. someone is usually on shore - for one reason or another, m aybe high maintenance and don't want to wet the hair do or afraid of sharks and alligators. so the person on shore watches the floaties, fishing rods, coolers, and cars etc... i usually leave my keys in the ignition with the windows down so we can listen to cd's or the radio. i have never heard of anyone getting their car stolen at the beach. if i'm in my suv, there's a locking compartment for purse and money. if in a car, put that in the trunk. if going for a walk, lock the car and carry your keys with you if you leave the vehicle alone.

I'd get a beach bag with a zipper and one of those pockets on the insides and put your keys in there. Some places have lockers where you can keep private items.

Floridian here....! You have a couple of choices.
1. Leave somebody on the beach with your stuff and have him guard it.
2. Put your keys in your beach bag or cooler or under the towels/clothes

some beaches have lockers you can hire. but if they dont most people have a blind faith and keep it in their bag or shoe, depending on how long im at the beach for depends on where i put it, if its a quick dip then i seperate it from the other keys leave those keys in the boot and tie it to my watch. if im there longer i usually have an esky or bag with food in it, i keep it in there with the food or wrapped in my underwear (cos what self respecting person would touch your undies?)

There are sooo many people on Newport Beach that most often then not you can leave your possesions lying around on your towel or underneath it if your paranoid .
But like i said everyone is around you anyway seems kind of dum to try and hide when people will see you hide it.
Better to say hi to those around you so at least they know whos stuff is whos.

I put em in a small plastic case then bury the case in a few inches of sand under my towel. You just feel around in the sand when you're ready to leave and you always find em.

most people leave them in a shoe, but thieves know to look there. Best thing to do is buy one of those waterproof containers that you hang around your neck, or wrist and keep your keys on your person.
