It used to be all massive flood this and resurrection that and splitting of seas here and talking donkeys there but these days the only thing happening on the miracle front are very small, very 'selfish' miracles. Healing old nuns from arthritis, that kind of thing. See the contrast?

little bobby: I am pretty frigging sure a talking donkey would be all over youtube in five minutes flat before making every single news and variety show on the planet. It would end up hosting a talk show.

lupinesidhe: you either have a very poor concept in your mind of what a parted sea would look like and believe me, it would not be mistaken for a plane.

TTC: that is no answer.

bonsai: since there is a bible quote for nearly frigging everything if you are willing to completely ignore the context I am not impressed.

I get your point, but look at the differences in culture. Our society would look at one of those miracles and try to find a way to write it off (there was a low flying plane or high wind and that's why the seas parted) and so on. I don't think we would know a real miracle if it jumped up and bit us on the butt.

You missed the point. With the way our society works, we would try to find a scientific explination for what we might call miracles.

I have seen people delivered from demons. Now that is a weird and awkward thing to witness. I have heard of people being raised from the dead. I have also heard of people who had lost a limb grow them back almost instantly after receiving prayer. So, yeah, these "major" miracles are still going on today. They are just not talked about as much. Especially in America, where most people have pretty much thumbed their noses to God. Why would he want to do anything "major" in the U.S.? After he gave us all our greatness. We just take it and run and claim it was all because of us. Then we make the rest of the world feel bad. Not to mention it takes believing in the power of healing for such things to honestly take place. My father has claimed to have seen some false gods. Such as the ones once (and I think still) are worshiped in Hawaii. As well as other places, Fiji, being the primary place.

I mean, after stating all that I have stated. People are just goin' to label my dad crazy. Me an idiot. But hey, that is the best explanation to why you never hear or see these things. You would not believe it even if I told you. (as I just did.)

I absolutely am pissed and hate myself. I actually have to agree with you.

I can barely bring myself to submit....this ........answer.

Televangelist "miracles" rock, though. The woman born blind and never saw so much as a shade of light, yet when she was "miracuously" healed, she could "see" at first sight that a red handkerchief's color was called red. There's a real "vision" of hope.

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matt 16:4

Friend, I am not ignoring the context..this present generation is seeking more than blind eyes being opened and the dead being raised to life (all of which are occuring). The massive signs that you are seeking will happen during the last 3 1/2 years of Jacob(Israel's) trouble.....My guess is that within 20 years we will witness the comming of the Antichrist..

I take it you've never seen Pat Robertson's daily show. He does his prayer thing and when he really gets into it, he looks -- as one comic put it -- like a man trying to pass an axe.

Now that would be a miracle....

I think my niece is a major miracle to me. The doctors gave up hope and called the family in to say goodbye. She was a preemie. We prayed and guess what she is alive 4 years later. The doctor and medicine gave up on her. GOD didn't.
