Just read the Christian answers in this section. That's how the ancient Egyptians would have reacted as well.

Oh wait, that was already your point of course. I'm slow tonight :)

...but what if I went back in time to ancient Egypt and, after telling them that their gods would eventually only be discussed in mythology and folklore (and getting a general "what's your problem, ma'am?" from them) I'd start preaching about Jesus the Saviour? And I'd actually manage to convert some of them to Christianity, around 2000 BC? ...So (among other discrepancies) when He comes, they'd be waiting for Him and refuse to crucify Him - cause He'd *be* recognized as the Messiah?...
Oh the consequences...

edit: TTC - I don't know what god you are talking about, but if it is what I think it is - then YEAH!

I think they would act the same way they did when Moses told the Pharoah that God had sent him to say, "Let HIS people go!" Remember, they laughed and scoffed at Moses! Even with the throwing down of the staphs and the outcome, they still did not accept what Moses was saying!

So, no, I don't think it would be any different if we went back in time and told them the truth!

The worship of the Gods of Egypt still takes place. The Muslims have been trying to stomp it out for centuries with restrictive Laws.

I would probably die because I was blaspheming their Gods, or I would die because I couldn't speak the language, or I would die because I looked so strange to them. Any road ends in death so I just prefer not to go into time travel. Jules Verne appeased my time travel curiosity. LOL!!!

To do that would be messing with the timeline. Plus, I'm afraid of ending up as some kind of sacrifice.
