it seems that allah is allah in any language, which does not compute to GOD.

Yes this is why Christians in Arab countries who speak Arabic will say Allah when they pray. Yet for some reason no American English speaking Christian is willing to see this. They seem to think that all Christians say God but that is an English word.

The language of the Quran was Arabic so everyone uses the name given. "Allah" does not translate straight into God but actually means "The God." It cannot be taken in plural and does not imply any gender.
I am from Pakistan and we sometimes say "Khuda" instead of Allah which translates to God. But most of the time we say Allah because it was used in the Quran.

The only correct one was 2:216. But this is about war....no one likes war but sometimes its neccessary when someone else is attacking. Nowhere in the Quran does it say to kill innocents whether they be believers or unbelievers. surah 109:6 tells to say to the disbeliever that "to you be your way and to me mine."

but the verse about not taking Jews and christians as friends actually uses the word protector. Think about it.....there were many wars at that time and muslims had been betrayed by them before. So its just a warning. This does not mean dont be their friends...I have had very close non-muslim friends including a christian.
verse 8:12 was revealed during the battle of badr and is not talking about nonmuslims in general.
008.061 says:

This makes it very clear that the verse was talking about hostile disbelievers and not any innocents.
If 9:123 is talking about physical fighting the same codes of war still apply. Only fight when someone fights you first, if they move toward peace, you must also make peace, do not kill innocents, women and children, etc. I live in the US and there is a whole neighborhood of nonmuslims around me. I'm not trying to kill anyone. Again, fighting and war can only be done against hostile enemies. Not innocents.

It was stated that God would have a hundred names and by a hundred names He would be known, and when Jesus spoke the hundredth name, the heavens would open and believers gathered in. I have heard God referred to as El, Elohim, Lord God, God, Father, and as my Maker. I heard a Spanish speaker refer to Him as Padre, and Dios, so I imagine other nationalities have all manner of names for Him. Does it have to be an issue of contention?
