What would make a person want to "meet" the standards of the world?

You're kidding yourself, like all Christians today.

If you truly didn't meet the standards of this world, as you like to congratulate yourselves, then you would suffer the fate your Christian predecessors have visited on the non-conformists from Constantine until now. Christians remain the dominant cultural force in the US. No one who came out and called your faith atavistic nonsense and declared themselves atheist and empiricist could ever get elected to office.

When over 87% of Americans actually believe the Bible is God's word, you can hardly call yourselves radical non-conformists. YOU are the standard bearers of this world, and have been for 2000 years, and YOUR standards clearly haven't done much but keep mankind in ignorance and war, because you believe extremely weird things and hold convictions not based on testable evidence, but on ancient myths of barbarous and pre-scientific peoples whose god had more to say about animal sacrifice and slave keeping than he did about matters of true morality, i.e. the alleviation of human suffering.

So yes, you and the rest of Christendom are weird, but not because you don't limbo beneath the low bar your religion sets, rather because you do.

Yes, but then again, everyone is weird.

Being normal is so impossible, since, that means you would be average, and what peson out there can measure down to the standards of perfect mediocrity that is the concept of average?

Embrace your weirdness, for it is a sign of your possible Yeti Heritage! Let they who are normal cast out that normalness, throw that averageness onto the dustbin of their lives!

No, you belong to God!! If that makes you weird, well then so be it!!! Sometimes, when I feel out of place, I just remember that this world is not my home. My heart yearns to be in my true home, heaven, with my lord and savior, Jesus Christ. I think it's weird if you become too comfortable in this life and in this world. Why? This world is temporary. And, it's short...Think about it...Maybe you're here 70-some years...That's nothing compared to eternity!!

God bless! Jesus loves you!!

Its ok I'm weird too....everyone is weird these days. Besides what is normal? The idea of what is normal and what is strange vary from culture to culture and even from one individual to the next in the same culture

It depends on your standards. Jesus was considered "out of his mind" and a conjurer of demons by the world's standards. It's God's standards that matter, not mans.

Weird is in the eye and mind of the beholder.

No.

It's better to meet God's standards.

But, of course, what we do on this earth is important too. If it weren't, God wouldn't have put us here.

St. Paul put it best: whatever you do, do for the glory of God.

That means that everything we do counts. Everything.
