Could any of you interior decorators please tell me the correct way to place pictures on a wall that would be most pleasing to the eye. Also if the room you want to decorate has three walls available for decorations, would you place one picture on each wall or should a room only have one major picture? Thanks in advance!

there are a few rules for pictures;
should be hung at eye level, so for standing area is about 57" and for seating area lower, only a few inches above chair, or what you think eye level would be when you are seated, art is meant to be looked at and enjoyed.
you can have as many pictures as you want, but you should try to have relation between them, so maybe the frames are all similar or if the frames are all different then the colours or themes of the pictures should all be similar.
if you want to hang one picture on each wall as you mentioned I would suggest that these be quite large pictures especially if that is all that is on the wall.
or you might do one large on middle wall and groupings on either side wall, or vice versa. essentially you can do what you like, just be aware of balance and as I mentioned before a common theme.
I always lay my pictures in grouping on the floor and play around with it before i make a decision on how I am going to hang them.

Each time you hang a picture you are creating a focal point. Pictures for one, should be centered on walls over furniture or pieces of interest. The usual height is at about eye level depending if it is a sitting or standing room. This is personal preference. Multiple pictures create a gallery effect and are o.k. if complimentary in color and size and or theme but remember about focal points. to many and something gets lost. Other things to consider is lighting , choose the walls that receive good light most of the time. Another option is to use one wall and rotate them on occasion. This may create a change of environment that always appears different. If you enjoy them , hang them. That 's why you have them

It depends on...
Do the pix have anything in common? Are the frames the same material/color? How big is the room/pix?
Unless the room is tiny, more than one picture is great. If the wall is big enough, you could put all three on one wall; two on one, etc.
I would put the largest on the biggest wall, or two on the biggest and one on the next biggest.
If putting more than one pic on a wall, practice placement on the floor so you can get the most visually pleasing arrangement.
You might also consider other wall decor than pix. [ My dining room has two pix on one wall, each side of the china closet; second wall, ceramic bird figures my husb brought me from
Europe; third wall wooden 'scene' [cutouts]; fourth [window] wall, a hanging birdhouse my sister handpainted for me and brd figurines on the sill.]

Think in terms of what is pleasing to you. You are the one that has to live there.

I like to make groupings of small to medium sized pictures on one wall, like a gallery. But one picture on each of three walls works just as well. To know what pleases you most, just try out each way and then decide!

Generally the center of interest of a wall hanging such as a painting or photo should be about 60 inches from the floor. For paired objects they can be mounted side by side, one higher or lower but centered around sixty inches.

As far as placement side to side, centered over the couch, centered on a wall, centered between substantial objects such as a corner and a hutch are common ways of locating items.

Only one need..believe me. If your room's high around 2.70 metre, you should place it at 2.00 meter high at the top of you pic.
