There isn't one, although the galaxy is quite flat relative to the roundness of our planet.

I suppose you would say that the positively polarized end of the galaxy is north, hence the top side of our galaxy as we view it now.

Up is also theroretically any direction away from Earth.

North is on the tops on maps due to western bias.

It is a common issue with Star Trek Nitpickers that all the ships encounter each other right side up, which would rarely happen in reality some believe.

In space there is a large void and using the word "large" is not even describing it (space). But to put it in simple words anything away from where you are lets just say off the earth and away from earth it would have to be up. Now in space if you are there already then you would simply just have no up. For up could be in any direction for space is void of any up or down or sideways. Now if you are going to a specific location then you would have to determine where you are at a specific point in space to specifically say which way to go.

There's no up or down in space-unless you bring your own gravity with you some how or if you get near a star,planet or body with gravitas.

Up would be relative to where your body is positioned. I like this question. May have many spiritual applications.
