By using the process of elimination, it came down to only one Church which was the one the Jesus founded 2,000 years ago, the Catholic Church.

Before deciding on Christianity, I had also tried other religions but none gave me the peace that I only found in the Catholic Church.

Here is my question for atheists:
Have you ever just gone into a Catholic cathedral in the middle of a week when there are only a few people in there and just sat there for a while?

I did this before I had made up my mind about becoming a Christian. But when I was sitting in there, I could feel God's peace calling me. I can't describe it because it was a personal experience. That was what convinced me that the Catholic Church was my true home.

I feel the same way. I never really followed a religion, just God and the bible, and back in December God led me to His Church. And now I have found what I had been searching for all of those years. I feel the presence and love of God all through out the Catholic Church, Iam finally home. God Bless

Thank you for your courage and conviction in sharing this wonderful news with us, I too am a Catholic and I love my church and would never leave it no matter how much is said about it,it is truly the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic church founded on St.Peter and the Apostles.
Many Catholics today are almost afraid to to Catholic because of the recent scandals that we have seen, but two things must be remembered here and the first is this;
Jesus told them that the gates of Hell will not prevail against this church and in this context He meant that Hell would battle His church until the very end but would never defeat it,so the Catholic church is the mortal enemy of satan and he has tried many ways to bring it down including the recent scandals but it is still here.
The second thing to remember is this; Priests do not become pedophiles, but Pedophiles can and do become Priests.

We as Protestants, are protesting the Catholic doctrine, and waiting until the men who run the church, change it. At least that's the history of it. Now, Protestants, forget, that we are strongly linked to the Catholics, and that we are still protesting the Catholic church doctrine, not that bible. The Catholic Church is the Protestant's true home too.

That's great that you have found something that gives you peace but I hope because you have found the 'right' religion for you that you don't think Catholicism is the only right religion. That's when religion becomes arrogant towards others.
I am an atheist and I was christened Catholic when I was a baby. I don't have anything against it, it's just not for me.

As a good Catholic atheist I know what you mean. Catholic Churches are very peaceful.

When I saw this question, I was going to answer "If you had only started with the one TRUE Church - the Catholic Church - you would have found what you were looking for." I didn't see this coming. :-)

Glad to see you finally made it Home.

Peace be with you,

That is so awesome! I am a cradle Catholic. I've been meeting or hearing of more and more converts recently. One of the many things they've taught me is I need to not only believe, but to also know why I believe (ie. studying and reading the bible, and understanding why we believe what we believe.)

If you didn't already know, here is a website to the Catholic Catechism.

I've been to many cathedrals in Europe including the Vatican. There was a beautiful church in England that was built in the 1400's and it felt spiritual to me and I lit a candle there, but it was the people in the chuch throughout time, their energy left that I felt, not a religion.

Thanks for your testimony. I also came to the Catholic Church. I didn't think I would... I mean, the Protestants had better sermons, better singing, and better social functions. The Catholic Church seems dead by comparison... Still there was something that made me go there.. I think it was the fact that it was true.
