Use a cold compress to calm the skin where the break outs are. You can mix a bit of baking soda and some water, make it into a paste-like substance, and use that to gently exfoliate your skin. Use your finger tips and GENTLY massage in small circles on your face. Hope this helps.

if you have sensitive skin you only scrub area less than 60 seeconds and rinse with warm water and pat dry with towel not rub and then lotion it. http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=104210
1.
Apply Artistry Polishing Scrub (without water) to clean, dry skin.
2.
Wet the MicroExfoliation Cloth and gently polish the skin in a circular motion, using approximately 6 strokes per area (less if skin is sensitive).
3.
Rinse skin thoroughly with warm water, pat dry.
4.
Rinse the MicroExfoliation Cloth.
5.
Apply Artistry Skin Refinishing Lotion and your favorite Artistry treatment products and moisturizer.
Use 2–3 times weekly or less often if skin is sensitive. Do not apply to delicate tissue around the eyes or on broken skin. The Artistry MicroExfoliation Cloth is not intended for use with chemical exfoliants or peels. Allow some time after exfoliation before applying products containing vitamin A derivatives or retinols.

Wait till the breakout stops. Use chemical exfoliators. The brand DDF on Sephora.com has some. Ingredients like glycolic acid, etc.
I recommend seeing a dermatologist if you're constantly breaking out.
Exfoliation certainly helps prevent some zits, it doesn't do anything for existing zits, though.

I have very sensitive and acne prone skin. Heres what I do:
I wash my face first with Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub It's good to use warm water with a washcloth and dab your face with it. The i use St Ives Swiss Formula Apricot Scrub Invigorating For All Skin Types. I then dab my face with kind of cold water. The reason why you use warm and then cold is because the warm loosens up pores and the cold shuts them tight! It works like a charm. I also use proactive too. For a mask you could use St Ives Firming Massk Mieral Clay For all Skin Types. It's cool because it shows you your pores!
