Nope. Mormon, presbyterian, catholic, athiest, all the same when it comes to the presidency. This country was founded on a seperation of church and state.

The more I see of Mitt, the more I'm convinced he's a better politician than a 'good mormon'. He hasn't convinced me of his 'staying power' if things get rough especially in the light of his reversal concerning gay rights. Even the beleaguered Mr Bush has 'stayed the course', and while I may disagree with him for getting on the course in the first place, I begrudgingly give him points for chutzpah.
The Romney candidacy will reveal a lot of skeletons in the mormon closet which will come under scrutiny from the press. While bad publicity worked for Anna Nichole, it's bound to shake up the Church Office Building in Salt Lake.

God knows we can't have some godless Mormon in the White House! don't you know that the Mormons are trying to take over the government? According to one rabid anti-Mormon, the Mormons have an exact replica of the Oval Office in either the Washington D.C. or the Salt Lake temple, or maybe both, where the prophet can run the country. So, of course, Romney will be merely a puppet of Salt Lake! Never mind that this didn't happen just in the state of Massachusetts (which God had cursed thru Joseph Smith, or so the story goes), even tho they had every opportunity.
P.S. just in case you missed it, I'm being sarcastic.

No. We've see what Christians have to offer for the US over the 49 different presidents. I can't say I was impressed with any of them. Maybe a Mormon would be different. Besides, even a jar of toenail clippings could run this country better than Bush.
Besides, I can't vote yet. Nor will I be able to in 2008.

Whats to be concerned about...I call it poetic justice considering how the US Government murdered and persecuted Mormons over a hundred years ago, none of those bastards never imagined in their wildest dreams that one day a Mormon will be President....its things like this that make America great

i would vote for a muslim before i would vote for a mormon. they might be good people but i think they are delusional. even more so than downtown christians. So, yes, i am concerned but think the mormons are seen as a cult and Mr Romney hopefully has NO chance of being president .

NO! WE have had Catholics and Baptists. I don't think it will be any different. I feel more comfortable with a Mormon president than a Islamic president

No more than for a member of any other religion.
Kennedy faced similar concerns (he was Catholic, and some feared that as president he'd be taking orders directly from the Vatican), but that fear never did pan out.

Yes, I'm always worried when I think my president will be separating people in groups of good and bad, fools and 'saints' according to their beliefs. I'd rather have someone who viewed us all as just 'human'!

There is no reason to apply religious beliefs to the presidency, because all have a belief of one kind or another.
