If you were in a car accident and seriously injured (knock on wood) would you pray to god until you got better, or would you go to the hospital and let science heal you?

Expert, if you think its a dumb question thats fine, its your right. But please list the reasons as to why you think it is dumb, and listing "it pisses me off" is not a valid reason.

Science, gotta love it

Why do you assume that since Theists do not believe in the theory of evolution that they reject all science?

That's like saying that since I don't like chocolate cherry chip ice cream, (which I don't) I must dislike all ice cream.

Completely unreasonable, right?

Science has done great things, as well as terrible things (atom bomb, for starters), just as the religions of the world have.

I have been in a serious accident, (though not as serious as you have in mind) and let me tell you- I was very happy to get to the hospital and receive the proper treatment.

I would go to the hospital of course. Praying to God to heal you without taking advantage of what He has already provided for your healing is tantamount to tempting/testing the Lord. It's like when the Devil told Jesus to jump off the top of the temple because God had said that He would give his angels charge over Jesus and bear Him up in their arms lest He dash his foot against a stone.

Jesus wasn't having any of the Devil's nonsense and people who think that they can dictate to God how they are going to be healed are full of nonsense too. I would certainly pray that God would give the doctors wisdom and ask Him to provide his divine power to the healing process but I wouldn't demand that He heal me in a way that was of my choosing instead of His.

Of course I would go to the hospital and let science heal me.
Do you really know that little about modern religion?

I'd go to the hospital and be praying like crazy the whole time. Nothing is impossible for God, but God expects us to do our part, too.

As a Christian who has no fear of science, I would seek immediate medical attention. However, that doesn't mean that I'd also abandon prayer. I would do both things. I'd pray and go to the hospital, as well.

Chef,
All of medicine and science are a result of GOD's Creation (man) and we are certainly able to use science/medicine as well as you are. I would pray to our FATHER for HIS Assistance and certainly go to the Hospital if needed. Wouldn't you?? Have a great weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

I would pray and go to the hospital and let doctors try to heal me. God helps those who help themselves.

I'd pray that the doctor hadn't studied fundamentalist science!
