i was in chinatown eating with some friends and at the restraunt they served jellyfish and i kinda didnt get what the point in eating it was. it didnt really have any taste to it at all

Its a textural thing. In many eastern cultures the texture of food is very important, and some food are eaten really for the texture.

People seem to like the texture & the sauces used to flavor it. I don't care much for jellyfish either but my friends who like it really love the chewy texture.

Some people might like things that are bland, or they may like the texture. Who knows!

I think because it's edible. Otherwise, there really isn't any point seeing as how chicken and beef, etc, taste soo much better.
