Why not read the Wikipedia entry for United Church Of God. You'll have to watch out for the likes of Baptists, Methodist, etc., as they will no doubt want to condemn your beliefs.
United Church Of God do not believe in the trinity, Christmas or Easter, a bit like the JWs.

Hi Andrea,
Before I answer your question, please do not be ashamed to ask your Gran. I would hope if my grandson had a question (when he gets old enough, he turns 1 tomorrow) that he would always feel comfortable enough with me to come and ask me.
We all have things we need to ask questions about, that is how we learn. It is especially important in this day and age of ever increasing flow of information and ever increasing ease of accessing that information like on Yahoo Questions, and if so many did not have questions, there would be no need for this website to exist. So, you are not alone. Your Gran can be a valuable asset to you for cutting through all the confusion that, as I am sure you can see, exists in a place like this forum.
And whenever someone loves you, as I am sure your Gran does, (We grandparents are funny that way about our grandkids!) they will want to help you with any questions that you have about not only the life we have been called to lead, but any other life question you may have.
But to answer your question, the United COG is not considerd to be a part of Messianic Judasim by either themselves or the Messianic Jews. Indeed Messianic Judaism rejects some of the beliefs of United (One true church, 14th Passover, Sunday Pentecost), as well as those of the Living Chruch of God and the other splits from the old Worldwide Church of God. And United and Living and many of the major offshoots of Worldwide reject some of the basic premisies of Messianic Judaism (Sacred names primarily, and the superiority of being born Jewish.). My personal study has shown me that both groups could learn much from each other.
But I would encourage you to talk to your Gran about that.
I have attended services with United, as well as the old Global and Church of God International (Garner Ted). Because I had many friends in all those places. I no longer attend any of them, but retain most of the beliefs and practices that I learned in Worldwide.
Since 1985, I have answered the question about what my religion is with: "Church of God". Then if anyone has any questions about my beliefs and practices I address those questions separately.
Most people just say "Oh, Ok", and move on to something else. few are curious and ask more questions. But that is ok. I'll bet you have learned enough already to give the right answers!
If you sign on today, have a great Sabbath.
If you need any more help, please email me.

It is not messianic Judaism. I'm sure you are aware of the changes in the Church during recent years in that it has come more in line with the beliefs of historical Christian orthodoxy. The church's views are still controversial concerning the trinity, the deification of believers at the resurrection, and the application of OT law to NT believers.

I don't think it is Messianic Judaism. I think you would be quite fair in calling it Christianity. Some of their beliefs dealing with the practice of medicine are little more than I could do personally. Do not be ashamed.
I mean look at the Mormon who keeps leaving posts, but not answering the questions. He thinks that is moral behavior, and he is not ashamed.

Andrea,
I do not believe that it is the same. The Messianic Judaists do believe that Christ is the Messiah but they follow a number of the Jewish Holidays and observances. I have a website that you might check out to see how closely you follow their Sect. It is found at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messianic_Judaism
They call Jesus "Yeshua". Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend.
Thanks,.
Eds
Edit:
Joe,
The articles of Faith are not GOD Breathed. They are created by and for MAN. They do not belong in Church activities at all. GOD's WORD is all that HIS CHURCH needs. Keep that in mind while you attend Church Services at the "JW camp".

According to their website, this church seems to be concerned, not unlike the Seventh-Day Adventists, about not observing the sabbath on Sunday, but are probably not aligned specifically with Messianic Judaism. They just appear to be one of several Christian denominations with a somewhat non-mainstream idea of the sabbath, and of Mosaic law.

no---it's certainly not "messianic judaism"--it's just another tribe of Christianity--that a little hung up about the "end times"--lol--:]

It is considered Christian. It is to be the "true" church of Christ. That would make it Christian.
