YES ever mother in the world that is truly a mother hates to have to let go. We feel that all we have ever been is mom. What will we do with our self now that they don't need us anymore? But take it from a mother of a 20 year old they will always need you. And after the initial shock of letting go, mothering from the side lines is much more enjoyable.

Yes, my son graduated 1 year ago. We moved to another state which was easier for him to find a job. He worked for 6 months, which felt strange waking him up for work rather than to get on the bus for school. He missed his girlfriend which he left in the other state. He left suddenly last summer to live with his girlfriend. My heart sank to the bottom of my toes. I was not ready for him to leave the house and start making adult decesions. I was close to a nervous breakdown, I just was not ready for this and not be able to wake him up in the morning and for him to sit at the dinner table making jokes.....it tore my heart out. It is now 8 months later and I still feel lost however it has been getting easier. Good luck !!!!!

I dread the day my kids leave me. They are still very young, so I have a while but inventing a machine to freeze time is on my things to do list. lol I cant imagine life with them all grown up and out of school, I like things just the way they are.

The empty nest is hard to swallow. I know. Find other things to take up your time. Maybe a part time job. Good luck.
