I purchased something from Wal-Mart that I would like to return. The problem is you must have a receipt. I ALWAYS throw away my receipts. (I usually use my cards)
I used my credit card to make the purchase but I do not know if that will qualify.
Can I use my bank statement as a receipt?

i doubt it. but, i know some stores can lookup your receipt by having your credit card number! i would call your local wal mart and ask to speak to a manager! maybe they will just give you a gift card of the amount instead.

and for the future ... always keep your receipts! it makes things alot easier!! :)

Unless the item is an electronic item, or Wal-mart is much more strict than they were when I worked there, you don't need a receipt. Given you credit card and an approximate date, they may be able to locate the transaction in their computer. If you have returned something WITH a receipt recently, they scan a barcode on the receipt to pull up the record.

I purchased something from Circuit City, which broke almost two years later. I took it in for repair, but they had a record of my purchase from my credit card (they maintain customer records), and I did not need a receipt, plus they replaced the item for free, even though my mover had dropped it. The moral of this story is, sometimes you get pleasantly surprised, WalMart may well have a record of your purchase. I don't often return things, but I have never had any issues with it, even though I get rid of receipts as well.

depending on the item you should be able to return it no problem, just bring the item in in original box along with the credit card, they will either refund the price to the card or give you a store credit

Although credit card statement do not indicate specific items purchase, you can try it nevertheless.

take the product in . If it is more then $5.00 anyway they have to put it on a gift card . So either way with a reciept or not you would wind up with a gift card still .
