Como estas? (singular and if you know the person)
Como esta? (singular and if you don't know the person, it's polite)
Como estan? (plural, doesn't matter if you know or don't know the people you're asking)

and in a more popular way, it could be... que tal? que ondas?

Como Estas? if you are familar with the person you are asking. Como Usted? if you are not familiar with the person. Como Estais? if its plural familiar Como Ustedes? if it's plural unfamiliar
