I love those people in the cults and want to do what I can to make sure they know the truth before they go into eternity and try to cash their counterfeit salvation check.
The Bible says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness," 2 Timothy 3:16
What about the book of Mormon, Catholic & The Orthodox book of Catechism, Islamic Koran, Shinto, Buddist, etc?

Thomas,
In 1 Timothy 3:15 when Paul speaks of the church as the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Timothy does not mean the church is the source from which truth will come. Pillars and foundations are not sources.

I just love it how every group seems to think THEY have a monopoly on the truth and their truth is the only real truth!
It will indeed be amusing when they all find out they were so wrong!

The Bible also says that The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1Tim 3:15. That church can be traced all the way back to Christ, and it is the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. Does this mean anything to you, or are you one of the ones who only cares what the bible says when it seems to support what you would like to believe?
Edit: Precisely my point. The Bible needs The Church to hold it up. Bible only is an illogical, unworkable, and unhistorical theological invention. It is a tradition of men. Please come home!

You're living in strange times, my friend. According to the tenets of humanism and its counterpart atheism, there are no absolute truths. What we have here is a runaway train out of control. These days truth is relative. The philosophy of relativism springs from two foundational presuppositions. First, what once was considered true, isn't anymore. Adultery was once considered a sin, but now it's a widely accepted social phenomenon that no longer matters, hence "holy matrimony" is a joke. Second, God may reveal himself to me in Christianity, but reveal Himself to you in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, or any of a long list of "isms".
Relativism is accepted widely because the two aforementioned presuppositions are both foundational to pluralism- the belief that all religions reflect truth about God and man equally, which is clearly not the case. Religious pluralism can only survive if truth is relative.because the world's major religions all contradict one another in their basic doctrines. Only by claiming that truth is relative is pluralism kept from falling apart. The philosophy of relativism teaches that absolute truth, truth that is applicable to all people at all times, is non-existent. Pluralism teaches that all religions are climbing the same mountain, and all lead to God which history and common-sense prove otherwise. For these and a myriad of other reasons exists the fact that until people understand that there ARE absolute truths, and that only ONE religion can be valid and true above all other pretenders, the climb to the top of that mountain is neccessarily going to entail bloodshed and senseless loss of life.

It's because some people with a particular idea of what the truth is can't shut up about it. If your self-description is correct, you sound like a basher. That annoys and repels people. It does not attract them to any particular version of religion. And by the way, if you think that the Roman Catholics are mistaken, find a Jesuit to argue with. He will tie you in knots within minutes.

BINGO! Read my profile. You nailed that one on the head. I bet you learned that from Jesus didn't you? Because afterall, He was a carpenter, and he never missed. I know exactly what you're talking about. Been there done that and experienced it first hand. Some people have even told me to go jump off a cliff. But I just remind them that hey, they actually tried to push Jesus off a cliff once. Then I make a quick escape..lol... So just count it all joy when they call you all manner of names for His name's sake. Because the Lord has counted us worthy to suffer for His name's sake

You see telling people the real turth is in a way bashing them. This is because the real truth is we know squat. And telling someone they know squat would seem like bashing unless you realize that everyone has no clue.

If I'm not mistaken, the eternity that you believe in would accept their check and anyone else's check also, in fact, it would accept someone with no check at all. Am I right?
So, in other words, you don't really need a check at all. Just keep on doing what you're doing and loving what you're doing and hating those who don't do what you do because the fact that they don't do what you do makes you feel like what you're doing is wrong.

It's bashing when people insist that their supposed truth is better than the supposed truth of someone else and telling them so.
No one know which (if any) religion is true. Quoting a book is meaningless.
