I want to make the Velveeta and RoTel dip and I found the recipe for it on the RoTel website, but this recipe is for making it on the stove in a saucepan. Would I use the same amounts if I am making it in my crockpot? It is only gonna be for my husband and I. The recipe on the RoTel site says to use
1 - 10 ounce can of RoTel Original Diced Tomatoes etc.
and 1 - 16 ounce package of Velveeta cubed.
I'd also like to add some crumbled sausage to it too. How would I go about adding the sausage to the recipe? Do I need to cook the sausage in a pan first and then add it to the (melted?) ingredients in the crockpot or would I add the sausage in raw with the unmelted ingredients?

Take 1lb of sausage or hamburger & brown in skillet, then drain. Place meat in bottom of crockpot, then add 1 can Rotel and 1 block of Velveeta cubed - I like to use the Velveeta mild mexican for some extra flavor when using meat in the dish. Heat on low til melted, then stir well before serving.........

Depends on the type of meat and how much to how long it takes. Also the velveeta you may want to add when the meat is getting close to done. If you have a recipe do follow your instructions.

Use the amounts from the recipe; cook & crumble the sausage and add at the beginning. Be sure to cook on low.

Try this one next time---equal amounts velveeta & canned chili without beans. I like it better than the tomato one.

Yes use the same amounts, its just going to take longer than if you were doing it on the stove top. Brown the sausage in a pan first then add it to the crock pot.

if i was cooking it for 2 people i would do it on the stove top. it is easier to clean a pot than a crock pot. yes, cook the meat before you dump it in the cheese. have fun.
