Because if he is deemed a god, then we have no control over our bad actions. The devil made me do it - I'm not responsible for it so I don't have to bear the consequences of thos actions.
But you're right, the devil only has as much power as we give him.
I don't believe in the devil, so he has no power in my life. No control and I take complete and utter responsiblity for my actions and behavior.

Well, I am not Islam, but Christian. But I do believe what you said above... The devil is a good devil - he does his job. The only reason he doesn't have power over us, is if the Holy Ghost indwells us, and He can combat anything the devil tries to use against us if we use the name of Jesus to defy the devil. But, we have a part in that.... The only power the devil has here on earth is that which God as allowed him to have, for this time. But there will come a day.... Anyway, the devil isn't the god of anything... he's a fallen angel.

The Bible calls Satan the "god of this system of things" and tells us that the "whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one."
We only give the Devil glory when we believe the lies he perpetuates about God and support his rebellion by rejecting God and the truth about His word, the Bible.
The devil's influence on society is not hard to see. Simply turn on the TV or read the newspaper and you will see what he has done to mankind: wars, famine, pestilence, death, abuse, hate crimes, violence, etc. etc.
So although the "devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone," the time is fast approaching when he, along with his demons, will be done away with forever and God will resolve mankind's woes.

Well, it is because he was told by God he could pick any one of the planets to go to and he chose this one. Not to mention that he had more power than you think. I heard a story once about a guy who thought that because he was going to a Christian school that Satan could not enter it and wouldn't bother him. Satan showed up in his room that night. I believe that story because anytime you tell Satan he does not have power is when he really will start messing with you. It is like when you ignore a small child they throw a tantrum. However as someone who is against Islam and stands for Chrisitanity it is not surprise that Islam takes that stance. Why would Satan need to mess with people who believe in Islam, he already has you. As long as you follow Islam you already are on the path to hell as far as I am concerned so why should he put any efforts towards you. Satan is too busy going after people who he thinks are taking interest in the truth, Jesus Christ being the son of God.

You've assumed in your reasoning that the stance of Islam on the issue is correct, which isn't necessarily true. The Bible teaches that the purpose of man is not to rigidly obey God's commandments, but to have a relationship with Him. Through that relationship, obedience to His commands, which are a reflection of His character, naturally follows. The Devil desires to prevent us from having this vibrant relationship with God.
The reason Satan is referred to here as a "god" (notice the small g, indicating power, but not the ultimate power and authority of God) is because the Bible teaches that God has chosen to allow Satan to have a limited kingship of the world. This is because of the actions of Adam and Eve, who chose to follow Satan instead of God. The consequence of this was the fall of the world into evil the control of Satan. The Bible teaches that when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are freed from the power of evil (personified in Satan).
This is why some people refer to Satan as a "god." Personally, I prefer the term "power" or "king" because it's less confusing. If you have any questions or want to discuss this, feel free to email me at lukeburtonak@yahoo.com.

Well, anything can be a God, really...
In the Christian point of view - Satan was originally an angel who went against God because of jealousy and power - he wished for people to worship him and not God. So when anyone turns away from God, they are, in essense, worshiping the devil. Considering that now-a-days, there's a great many turning away from God and putting other things first in their lives - like money, power, work, sex, or even themselves, then it's like they're worshiping these things. And if you aren't worshiping God, then who is getting that worship? Satan.
From a Christian point of view, anyway.

If you believe that Satan has no power, then you are foolish, as is your religion. The word of God says that Satan is as a ravening lion, seeking whom he will to destroy, and he is doing a pretty good job, according to the condition of this world.
II Corin. 4:4 is exactly truthful. This world is Satan's dominion. Every type of evil that there ever was is right here on this earth, and Satan is right at the heart of every bit of it.
Because of the rebellion against God, and the rejection of God's laws and Word by the people of this world, God's perfect will is not done here, but this world is ruled by the Enemy, which is Satan.
This does not glorify him. To say he has no power makes him even more powerful. The greatest trick he ever played on men was to convince them that he did not exist. Your beliefs are up there close to second. He seeks whom he will to devour. Take yourself, for example. Satan has used false doctrine to make you believe that Jesus is not the Son of God. That He made no sacrifice for the remission of sins. That He was merely a prophet. And for your disbelief in God's only begotten Son, you will be devoured. See how it works? So you see, Satan is not as powerful as God, but he has the power to destroy men, and he will destroy millions before the end.
Repent, and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Quit following a false religion, and a false prophet. To reject the salvation offered to you through Jesus Christ is to accept damnation. This world may tolerate other religions, and gay priests, and gay ministers, but I can assure you Sir, GOD does not !

devil has the traditional powers of a classic angel yet his fabulous skill is deception. He decieved Eve into questioning she had an immortal soul and can "not die yet may be like God". lots of the international's religions nonetheless have confidence in devil's unique lie. you will locate very few religions that have confidence YHWH who gave Solomon the know-how to place in writing Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20 & 9:5, and David to place in writing Psalm 146:4 and Moses to record what YHWH instructed Adam at Genesis 3:19 telling us precisely what occurs to us as quickly as we die. And whilst is the resurrection of people who're asleep in death? Yhshua tells us at John 5:28, 29; John 11:11 And earlier that Daniel grew to become into instructed via YHWH to place in writing Daniel 12:2. those variety of Scriptures divulge devil's first deception that "you will not die" (Genesis 3:4) because of fact the lie that it incredibly is! Mankind, via believing devil's lie and turning removed from YHWH has given devil the authority over all the kingdoms/governments of the earth. The Bible is obvious in this concern. Please examine here Scriptures: Luke 4:5, 6 a million John 5:19 John 14:30 John sixteen:11 Ephesians 2:2 2 Corinthians 4:4 Daniel 2:forty 4 James 4:4 John 15:19 Acts 5:29 a million John 2:15 Romans 12:2 Daniel 2:forty 4 yet devil's rule over mankind is approximately to be dropped at an end and due to this issues are so undesirable in his international maximum suitable now. please examine Revelation 12:7-12 agape! .

He is not the God of this world he's only been given reign because man chose to listen to him and learned of good and evil before God was ready to show him. Won't be long now though he will be destroyed, he already lost the war.
Christians know he has no real power his power is only an illusion.

While I cannot address your question in Islam please allow me to address it from the Christian perspective.
Satan is not a god. He is the first of the fallen angels and the first to rebel against God. I realize that the scripture in question calls him "the god of this age" but I believe it is safe to say that he is acting like a god and many people, believers included, treat him with god like status.
The heart of that statement is that Satan has been given Dominion for a season and has been and is active in his deceiving people and keeping them from the true path. He has only as much "power" as God allows him to have. When God says this far and no farther Satan cannot budge that line one little bit.
Jesus was tempted by Satan and he failed. When Jesus said depart demons fled his presence. So in this regard they are powerless before a true believer. Unless God allows for testing as seen in the book of Job.
