Violence against children and women is avoided by our society. Part of the problem is that the bible teaches that it is perfectly all right to beat rebellious wives or children. It is only when one dies that we become concerned. Even then, it is treated as an anomaly and not as a basic teaching of the bible which says that a child should be put to death for cursing his parent.

Not everyone who enters into a Church is a Christian. The Bible clearly warns us that there will be wolves amongst the sheep or non-believers amongst the believers.
This is why a Christian woman should only marry a true believing man. When a woman marries a non-Christian, someone who has not truly been born again then she should have good reason that a man with a sinful nature might beat her, or cheat on her, etc.
Again there are many who go to church but are no more Christian than your door knob.

And its just the type of person, "The Pillar of the Community", that aways gets away with it....I have seen your question here several times. But it seems in general, people don't want to talk about it...It happens everyday, more people need to take notice...and stop ignoring the issue.

I hope that this will comfort you. If they are and God is real He states He will deal more harshly with them. But I agree it is in the churches best interest to police itself and get away from controlling others who don't even know Him. In fact several mentions that are commonly referred to as saying homosexuality is wrong are really about man boy things and there is a section in one of the Corinthians about kicking someone out of church for raping his step-mother. I find it sickening myself but it doesn't surprise me. It is insane that they think they can change the world and neglect changing within and rooting evil out of their own midst and yet there are a lot of lovely people there as well. I go to church and would appreciate any prayers or positive thoughts you can send our way that we will get the logs out of our eyes and stop seeking God by the oppression of others. I am praying for it.

Sexual offenders and abusers can be men or women, gay or straight, white, black, asian or Native American or any other race, rich, poor or in between, Christian, Atheist or another faith.

They can be in the cubicle next to you, your child's bus driver or a member of your family.

There are good and bad people who call themselves Christian just as there are good and bad people who identify themselves as Atheist.

Any person who abuses another is subject not only to legal woes, but also punishment from God, who commands husbands to love their wives "as their own bodies" and "assign them honor as the weaker vessel." We are also told that "children are an inheritance from God."

Clearly, a person who commits such heinous acts is not doing so in harmony with God's principles and should be immediately reported and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

SOME experts say that women are more likely to be killed by their male partners than by all other types of perpetrators combined. In an effort to stem the tide of spouse abuse, numerous studies have been conducted. What kind of man batters his wife? What was his childhood like? Was he violent during courtship? How does the batterer respond to treatment?

What are you taking about?
If someone is abusing someone else then by all means tell the authorities right away. If you do not report it then you are as guilty as the person committing the crime. If you can stop it then stop it.

Going to church does not excuse you from legal charges.
If you are to scared then contact me and I will report it for you.
Sheesh.

I'd like to kick his a$$. I bring my kids up in a way that one day they will marry other kids who haven't been spoiled by their parents or other relatives in that way. I've gotten up and asked men to be good to their daughters because my sons need wives. I'v gotten up and asked men to be good to their son's because my daughters need husbands. A lot of people have to leave because they know how serious I am about that.

Yes, christians sin too! I can't think of another place they need to be - a church right! People have this perception that b/c you go to church you must be perfect. Well isn't that what we strive to be more Christ like.

But what are re you going to do, go up to every guy and ask "do you beat your wife"

It is a problem, but one that does not have an easy solution.
We shouold START by recognizing women like Loraina bobbet,

Jon should be in jail not Loraina, but instead he's making porns with a synthetic d*ck.
