Why do people still think other countries military's (such as China) are stronger? I don't see how people can still deny that the USA has the strongest military in the world. Lots of troops, the best technology, air force, navy, special forces, equipment, great training, etc.
The Army might not be the best trained in the world, but they are no slouch. And the marines and special forces such as the green beret and navy seals are top notch as far as how well trained they are.. they are killing machines.
Has nobody heard of former green berets who cannot be spooked even by their own kids? Even years after they fight, when they are living at home, you cannot sneak up behind them and scare them to play a joke on them, because they will instinctly kill you without thinking. That is crazy.
The US military is no joke..

Yes, materially U.S. is superior. But superior material alone is not enough to win wars. Why do you think the U.S. has still never won the Iraq War until this time (4 years into the war already)?. The U.S. has clear aerial, naval, and land superiority. The Iraqi insurgents never even have a single aircraft, ship, or a standing army. They don't even have protective gear that they can wear in battle similar to that of American troops. But despite the overwhelming superiority, there isn't any clear indication that the U.S. is winning the war.
This is the problem when the U.S. military is simply a killing machine. They're like robots who don't know right from wrong, moral from immoral. And worse, they don't even know that they are already defeated.

I don't think there's any doubt the US Military is the best and they ARE the best trained. The comment about Green Berets is just stupid. There's alot more to being a soldier than being a killing machine. The real strength of the military is in it's leadership. Officers and Non-Coms that think quickly and independantly. The problem is there are over a Billion Chinese and any problems we have with them would probably be in their part of the world. There are limits on what we can do, especially while we are already engaged elsewhere. Talking about how tough we are doesn't help any situation.

the united statesmilitia is obviously the main efficient militia stress contained in the international good now. No different usa has the skill to undertaking means on everywhere close to the dimensions simply by fact the U.S. asserting that.... i do no longer think of the united statesis stupid sufficient to get entangled in an entire scale war with every physique like Russia or China considering the indisputable fact that is a no win undertaking.

US military is still the best in terms of its technology, training, equipment, etc.. ie. the "hard" power.
But if the war in Iraq is still going on, the morale will be weakened (maybe already), and that soft damage will not be seen until later, but very fatal. Nothing is worse than lack of belief.

Use your common sense, man. The military is under the direct control of the Congress and Senate, the military generals are noithing but basically yes men. If they buck they system, all of a sudden, they are "retired". Look what happen in Iraq with the head honcho, who bucked the system.

I've never heard of anyone saying that they are a joke, and that the US military isn't the most powerful on the planet. I think what is in question is whether or not our military should be everywhere on the planet.

Problem is the sorry politician will not let them do their jobs correctly because some bleeding heart liberal don't think killing is right, even if they are trying to kill us.
People die in wars, so the best is to make sure the enemy is the one dieing, and not us.

I do not think!! I am positive the US military is not the best in the world. "Best" equipment, yes...best soldiers...absolutely no fecking way...the American grunt is a shoot first ask questions later. Place the same equipment in any American enemy army and i would choose the enemy any day!!
