Me being baptist we obviously don't agree on things, but I don't want to be rude.

It bothers me b/c she has been by like 6 times wanting to know if I've read her material - I've told her where we are members - my DH told her about his mission trip w/ our church - what is she wanting. I'm not converting!

I think I see your problem. You mention her wanting to know how you liked what she left. When someone accepts something from us, or has a discussion with us and acts interested, we see them as interested. Saying you are Baptist, but continuing disscussions or accepting brocures says to us, You are interested. Example, one person I used to talk about beliefs with was Agnostic, while she was Agnostic she and I still had conversations.

If you do not want for her to come again, simply let her know, I am not interested/no longer interested in talking with you. It is ok to be direct, while at the same time polite:D

Hope this helps:D

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

You need to get your house "marked". Basically, give them arguments that they cannot explain and they will mark your house in their book and they will leave you alone.

Here is a good one...

Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH...

Isa 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I YHWH, the first, and with the last; I am he.
Isa 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH and His Redeemer

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the YHWH the King of Israel, and his redeemer the YHWH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Who is the First and the Last? It is YHWH it is Yeshua, the Redeemer, the Almighty.

Re 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Re 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:
Re 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
Re 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Re 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Show them the folly of their New World Translation...

You can use a simple concordance to look up the Hebrew.

The New World Translation renders Genesis 1:2 as follows...
"...and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters."

The word "active force" is ruach in the Hebrew. The same word is used in Genesis 41:8 & 38. Here is the New World Translation rendering of these two passages.
"And it developed in the morning that his [Pharaoh's] spirit became agitated."
"Can another man be found like this one [Joseph] in whom the spirit of God is?"

In one scripture, referring to God, it renders ruach as "active force". Yet when we see it elsewhere in the same translation, the meaning changes. Why? Because the "Watchtower Tract and Bible Society" has an agenda. All evidence and text relating to the Holy Spirit being attributed to God cannot remain in the text, the text must then be changed. The Bible must change the church, not the church change the Bible! This is a perfect example.

Now, here are the same scriptures in the King James Version...

"And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."
"And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled"
"Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?"

Can you see? The New World Translation changed the meaning of ruach to conform to the Watchtower agenda. This, they arrogantly proclaim as a very accurate translation from the Hebrew. Well, you can say whatever you want, but a simple Concordance will prove otherwise.

we at the instant are not freaks. i assume you will possibly call Jesus Christ a freak additionally. as a results of fact he commanded us at Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20. I in no way seen every physique come to the door bare. somebody doing this is rather impolite. while you at the instant are not involved, in basic terms tell the witnesses to place your call and address on the do not call record. or call the interior of reach kingdom hall. this is not harassment and we at the instant are not soliciting. this is merchandising. we don't sell. we in no way ask for money. if the toddler is sleep, in basic terms positioned a demonstration up that the toddler is drowsing, please knock and please do not ring the bell. and u are impolite for calling Jehovah Witnesses freaks. with the aid of the way, the law enforcement officers can not end us as a results of fact we've a excellent to talk with the associates.

Hi you sound like a lovely lady. I have friends like you they just don't know how to say no for fear of being offensive.

Having been one of JWs I can relate to this question. I used to call on a lady. She was always very nice. Then one day I went and she told me that she would prefer it if I stopped calling and then handed me back the literature I had left with her! That really got the message across. (And I didn't feel offended at all...)

Start reading up on her cult's information. Any good Christian bookstore should have materials. And then evangelize her in such a way that she either quits coming or she converts. If you are a Baptist, you want her to come to know our Savior, right?

Or, you can put a sign up that says "No Jehovah's Witnesses." She'll get the hint.

Or, you can put your head in the sand (I say this politely).

just tell the Jehovah Witnesses to put your name on the do not call list. if you say you are jewish, that will not help. I was born jewish and now I am a Jehovah Witness. they will not come back for a year or so because you may of moved and the next family will be interested to learn about Jehovah and Jesus Christ. if you come to the door not wearing anything, so. it is your house. www.watchtower.org. also we do not change your religion. that is between you and Jehovah God

Answered this to someone else a couple of days ago - we had a sweet JW lady come round last week waving the Watchtower and she asked me if I knew that "Jesus is coming again". I know fine well that they don't accept the Bible but didn't want to engage in any discussion so I said "yes, I know, isn't it fantastic!". She was totally disarmed which give an opportunity to tell her that was quite happy in our church, thanks all the same! Think that they count on people not knowing what to say so be strong and stand up for what you know to be true!

I had that experience before dear, there was a lady from JW and she kept on visiting me,but since im always busy working, she couldnt catch me most of the times, but she would always leave a note asking how am i doing, and that shes waiting for me,leaving some verses from the bible...etc..etc..one time,i was home, she came and i let her in because i dont want to be rude and i had to thank her too for taking the trouble to come and visit me,she started talking to me about their beliefs,i listened, and just let her talk. After that,i told her "Im sorry" and i respect her belief so she have to respect mine too, that i have no plans of changing what my mother and father tought me since i was a kid...that i am happy with my relationship to God,since then she stopped visiting me...Try to talk to her and speak frankly about what you feel.I'm sure she'll listen to you.

v(^^)v peace!

You can say something like, "I would appreciate it if you Witnesses stop coming by my house." As soon as they know that, they will note that and consider your home/apartment a "no knock." Or say, I respect your beliefs, but I am satisfied with the religion I have. There is no need to be offensive. Be discreet about it though.

Thanks,
