Source: Once again I saw a decal/magnet on a car saying "I support the troops". (AND) Once again I ask the owner of the vehicle to send his son or daughter to the Marines or Army to fight in Iraq. They....... ( Driver of about age 46) looks as if he just sucked a lemon and looks at me with disgust. Why? I'm just wanting him to really support the troops. ( This happened at the Big Boy restaurant near Selfridge Air Base.) Most reply like this: "I support the troops as long as other people lose their family members".

People hanging round in dance clubs are too immature and self-absorbed to be inconvenienced by war. They are angry that a little thing like terrorism might make them grow up and take on tough responsibilities. Fighting for the security of their country might get in the way of their good time.

As a former Marine. I have had my fair share of people looking at me like I was a disgusting creature. I know that this is because the liberal media has control of the NEWS that most Americans see & hear. Most liberals have no respect for the military or those who served or are serving in it.

Aparently because the man you insulted had very good control of his temper.
I can think of a lot of reasons for that look of disgust. He could be a veteran, himself. He could have children who are too young to serve. They could already be serving, or even have died. He could have lost a child recently, even if it wasn't to the war. He could have been unable to /have/ children. He could have a very negative relationship with one of his offspring as a result of thier differing political views. He could just resent the intimation that he commands his adult children like some sort of dictator.
And, finally, how old are you? If you're much under 40 yourself, the disgust might have been that you'd dare to ask such a question when you could be serving, yourself.
