Like, i have a car entirely paid for and some other less valuable items...

I don't have any spouse or kids, just a mom, dad and sister.

The state, unless you will it to someone.

"Buy the farm"? I'm not sure what that means but your things will go to your parents, if they are not alive it would go to your sister next and so on down the line of your relatives from closest related to extended family once they go to court and are awarded everything (there are some court fees involved but not much). If you don't owe any taxes or government related debt, there shouldn't be any problems. If you don't have much you probably don't NEED a will, but if you care what happens to your earthly belongings once you are gone, you should put it in writing.

It goes to the state(atleast in canada) and then later it'll be disbursed(if at all) to your next closest relative, so your mom and/or dad, should they die before you, then your sister.

Needless to say, write the $20 will, they have kits at business stores, this will cost your family more money then it's worth to get a car and "stuff" through legal fees and emotional wear and tear.

Not sure if it goes to sisters husband or your aunt/uncle, after that, like I said, headaches....

PS. if you did the wife and dependants,

Wife
Kids
Parents
Siblings

The government, unless you have your parents as co-signers to your checking account, savings, or other accounts if not, then no. You best bet is to write out a will or just release all the responsibilities to your parents or something. Gosh, I hope you are not going to die soon. That would be awful!

It goes automatically to spouse and dependents but if you want your parents or sibling to have it you need to write a will. Not to say they can't get it but it will make it more difficult without a will.

Check with a local attorney - each state is different.

Usually your "stuff" will go to your next of kin...your parents. If you want to specify soemone other than them, you need to write a will. It is not as hard as you think. you can even go to Office Depot and get a standard simple will. Just make sure that you have it notarized and witnessed.

Your assets will pass under your state's intestacy law. I'm sure you can find that law somewhere on the internet. I think that - in most states - your assets would pass to your parents -and probably nothing to your sister unless your parents die before you.

You might just want to write something out for family. Nothing fancy, just your own words, signed and notarized.

Probate is not pretty, and costly to your family.

I would assume if you have any dependents they would claim them. If you owe debt maybe it is auctioned off. This is kindof a depressing question actually; why don't you do something that will make you happy

Law differ in each state. Probably all three would inherit. Wills are not that expensive to write. You should do it.

With no will the estate would go to probate court and the closest living relatives will divide your worldly assets.
