Don't if you got a new computer and Word was on there as a trial offer. Hope you have high speed.

The best thing I can tell you is to go to http://www.openoffice.org/ and download Open Office. It's a big download, but this is far better than Microsoft Office. Plus it will update itself so you don't have to buy the 'new' Office.

It should open all word processor documents, if it doesn't open your Word document with notepad and then transfer the wordpad document to Open Office.

Good luck

See if you have Microsoft Notepad or better yet Wordpad on your computer. Hit the start key and go to accessories on your menu and see if either is there.

With Notepad, you won't be able to format text like you can in Word, but at least you can get it typed. Wordpad will give you a few more formatting options and you shouldn't need a product key to open either.

You will be able to open the documents you create in Word later once you get a product key.

If you go to your computer's BIOS (By pushing the correct F-key on your computer at start up) you can configure your computer to start up the cd drive before it starts loading the hard drive. Insert the disk, shut down the computer. Start the computer up with the disk in it, and it will automatically start running the program without the product key.

Short term solution: Use Wordpad. It's already part of Windows.
Longterm solution: Get Open Office.
