New Hampshire just passed civil unions. And a bill to legalize gay marriage is being introduced in New York.
Once either NY or Cali legalizes gay marriage, it's all over but the shouting. The other big blue states will fall in line, one by one. And once the big blue boys legalize it the game's over, there will be too much momentum.
Actually, the battle against gay marriage was lost when the Supreme Court struck down anti-sodomy statutes as unconstitutional in Lawrence v. Texas. Even Justice Scalia admitted in his crybaby dissent that there was no longer a valid obstacle to the legalization of gay marriage.
Opposing gay marriage is an exercise in eventual futility. So why don't you Christians who oppose it just stop wasting time and energy which could be better spent on something that's actually productive and good for the world?

The "law of the land" simply means that gay marriage will be legal for those wishing to do so, not that everyone will be required to do it.
And you can hope and pray all you want and even speak out against it if you wish. Those are your rights to do so.
But that still won't stop what's going to happen, so you might as well make peace with the idea.

Sorry mother, but it's the plain truth of the matter. Sometimes the truth hurts, and people have to be slapped in the face with it.
Christians need to wake up and realize all the other good things they could be doing with their time and energy and apply themselves to those things, because opposing gay marriage is a lost cause.

You "that doesn't make it right" folks do realize that 75 years ago the same statements were made about racial integration, don't you?
"You may integrate the n*****rs, but that don't make it right."
And now where do the racial bigots make those kinds of hateful statements?
IN THE CLOSET! LOL!

Sorry, but fundamental civil rights are not a matter of popular vote. The Supreme Court's authority overrules any popular vote on the issue of civil rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Even though it's futile (and they know it) that doesn't mean they'll give up.
When blacks were freed and given the vote, they claimed that it was the end of the world.
When Women were allowed the vote they claimed it was the end of the world.
And now same sex marriage is the last of the great prejudices. They'll claim the world is coming to an end when they are dragged, kicking and screaming, into the modern age.
Too bad for them.

Jesus made it clear when He walked the earth and preached that "As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, so will it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man" (referring to Himself).
Your arrogant approach to this is unwarranted because if you die with that arrogant attitude your joy will be very short lived and your misery will never end.
Sex is not love in a homosexual relationship, it is lust! In a heterosexual relationship it is an expression of love if the person wants to please God more than themselves. You can sugar coat it any way you want to but God isn't impressed
with your rebellious heart! While He loves you and will forgive
you if you repent of your scorn of His Word and His people, He will also judge and condemn you if you won't repent.
If I hated you I would laugh at your spiritual blindness and let you go on without warning you of the consequences of your folly. Since the love of God is in me for you, I will tell you truth whether you will receive it or not. Then the decision rests with
you.
To hear God's word spoken no matter how it comes to you and disregard it because you don't like the messenger or the message will be enough for you to condemn yourself. That way you have nobody else to blame.
God is love and wrath. I will not minimize His word to please anyone - Christian or non-Christian. My accountability is to Him as well as yours is. I pray you will get a hold on the reality
of this before your soul passes from your body and you must stand face-to-face with the one you so obviously scorn.

Excellent point. Massachusetts allows gay marriage, NJ allows civil unions, other states are beginning to realize (finally!) that religion has no place in law.
I imagine there will be a few holdouts in the South and the Midwest, but I strongly doubt any federal measure will be passed to ban same sex marriages.
I also wish people with that much time and energy to spare could spend it on helping people in need.

God says you have to abide by the laws of the land and His laws. He didn't say we have to make the godless lawful. He said tell them I love them and would sacrifice myself for any one of them. Bring them to me by showing My love and concern for them and then He'll do the rest.
Good for them I wish them the best and long and happy lives together. Besides if they all converted to being straight who will do my hair. My hair guy is the best and he loves the Lord and shows me fruit like humility and genuine concern for others. He is a genius with a pair a scissors and I honestly don't believe a straight guy could do what he does. But I do agree that it is not fair to deprive life partners of inheritance and tax breaks ect... I expect to see some gay people in heaven and I'm looking forward. God wouldn't make people different if He didn't want them that way. Even if He doesn't He certainly doesn't want me to judge them. Further all those verses they quote are sometimes talking man boy love and orgy type things and sleeping around with men when you are married and rape ect and were merely translated wrong. But as much as I agree with you arguing with them is an exercise in eventual futility as you say. They are hard hearted and believe someway they are supposed to be in charge but blessedly only the Lord himself is really in charge.

how can you actually say that because something becomes legal it is right? My question back to you would be "do you realize that it is only a matter of time when Jesus returns and makes all things right. Legal will mean nothing then?"

It won't be the first law of the land that goes against God's laws, nor will it likely be the last. Euthanasia will likely be be a law of the land too in the not too distant future. It still won't make it right either.
Also not too far off in the future, Christ will set up His kingdom on earth, and when that happens, all laws will be in agreement with the word of God.
Edit: Comparing racism to this is not logical. God created all races and loves all equally. Racism is sin. God did not create homosexuality--it is sin. Big difference.

when it is the law of the land, the land will have diverted from morality
It is not right to justify an action just because people feel they ought to have the rights to do whatever they want..

Civilized countries like Norway, Sweden, South-Africa, Canada, Holland, etc, etc have gay marriage legalized for a while already.
It's less civilized countries like Iran, Burundi, USA and Syria that will catch up eventually, no worries.

"In a majority of those circumstances it grow to be delivered about to keep a relations at the same time and preserve little ones. Why do Gays experience the want for marriage? There are not any little ones of the paring to guard." nicely this reasoning would not extremely artwork as there are distinct married couples that do not, and could no longer, ever have youthful little ones. Do they no longer have the right to be married? 2d of all, gay couples do have little ones. They do have households. So through your similar reasoning they must be allowed to be married.

I'm pretty sure that gay marriages were happening in Sodom and Gomorrah also. I do hate to see it go that far here though and will do my part until there's nothing else for me to do and trust that God is still in control. God Bless!!!
