There is a big bunch of people in Australia who thought the old Steve was a bit of a idiot and a throwback to the 1950s or even the 1930s. At first. He turned out to be a pretty canny bloke. Most of Australia basically ignored him though. Sorry he died like he did. I believe the Steve Irwin industry has been exploiting his daughter. To them, I say, leave the poor kid alone, she's only a child and does not need to be reminded of her father's untimely death by greedy commercialists whenever they feel the need to top up their bank accounts.

He should have been prosecuted for his behaviour in Antarctica. He broke a number of Australian laws regarding wildlife. If those laws apply to scientists studying the animals, they certainly apply to a self promoting hoon like Irwin. I realise Irwin was popular in the USA, he was much less so in Australia.
