Fasting is not a reliable way to lose weight. You may take off some, but your metabolism bottoms out so when you start eating again, the weight will come back with a vengeance.
Your best option for permanent weight loss is to eat 4-6 small meals and healthy snacks a day (spaced out 2-3 hours apart)and drink lots of water. This will keep your metabolism up and the weight loss will be steady and will stay off.

What religion asks you to fast at this time of year?
Easter is past and Ramadan isn't until September this year.
How much weight you loose depends on how long do you plan to fast and if you plan to take anytype of nourishment. The fewer calories you consume, the more your metabolism will slow down so you will loose less than you might expect.

When you fast your body goes into "starvation mode" and holds on to as many calories as possible. What you lose the most when fasting is water weight which will just come right back once you start eating normally again. Fasting for religion is fine, but for weight loss is just not healthy. Do it the right way.

Yes, if you actually keep a fast and don't break it before the day is over, you should probably lose atleast a few 100 grams and it will not affect your health except in special circumstances like when you have a disease of that sort.

If all you do is fast you won't lose much. You need to exercise as well.

In fact, you will lose MORE weight by eating small portions of specific foods and exercising then simply by not eating at all.

you will loose weight but your metabolism will slow down and if one's metabolism is not fast that causes one to gain weight, i think fasting is not healthy but you know its part of your religion but i don't approve it.
