When one defaults on a loan or does not repay credit card debt...you are stealing....so, why do so many Christians say this along with bankruptcy, etc...is o.k...

Those who fall into bad financial state because of health or unforeseen circumnstances should be helped by the church to repay their debt...should they not?

Therefore, fundamentalist Christians should not default on loans...because stealing is wrong....yet, according to Newsweek, those who file bankruptcy are equally divided between those who label themselves as Christians and those who don't.

Quite honestly, I am tired of paying for you people who cannot control your spending and live excessive lifestyles...but, yet you somehow justify it as you do all of the sins that affect yourself...while pointing out everyone elses...why is that?

"....yet, according to Newsweek, those who file bankruptcy are equally divided between those who label themselves as Christians and those who don't."

So why are you addressing this only to Christians? What about the other half who don't label themselves as Christians, don't you mind "paying for" them too?
How exactly are you paying for them anyway? Your taxes are not used to pay off other people's bad debts. Not where I live anyway.

Did Newsweek also have stats proving that churches do not ever help their congregations financially? I know that some churches do.

I have to say that I find this kind of circular reasoning very tiresome. You are angry at Christians in general for being judgmental and you express it by being judgmental? It has been my experience that treating others as I would like to be treated makes myself and everyone around me much happier.
Care to try it? Or, alternatively, you could go to the specific people who have made you angry and express your feelings to them instead of condemning an entire people group for the actions of some of them.

I agree with you, and do not condone bankruptcy, defaulting on loans, etc. There is precedence in the Bible for debts to be forgiven, though in the Bible, the debt is forgiven by the lender.
Christians are just people too. Being a Christian doesn't suddenly make us better or holier that others, just forgiven. I control my spending to within my means and though I currently owe money, I will be debt free within a couple years. I honestly think that came more from teaching from my parents than anything else.

Stealing is wrong, it is something you are doing without permission. Loans are with permission! And you are to PAY BACK that loan, and it if is slowly paying back, who cares. As long as it is getting paid back. (Most loans are set up to be paid back in low sums each month)

If someone goes and takes money from someone without them knowing, and does not ask to borrow that is stealing.
Just like stealing things in a store without paying.....so is taking something from someone, no matter what the value is- if they did not give you permission, it is stealing.
