Source: My Marine nephew and his Marine friends. The Marines tell me the war is worthless and those who died in the Iraq war have died for nothing. ( Much like Vietnam )

How stupid do you have to be to ask a question like this? He's happy because he isn't going to be forced to get deployed and the redeployed a dozen more times into a war that cannot possibly be won. He's happy that he isn't going to be forced to stand in the middle of a civil war. He's ecstatic that he won't have to fight a war that has claimed the lives and health of his friends who were under equipped to do the job in the first place. Why don't you and all your war-hawk friends go stand in the middle of a desert and be a bullet sponge.

Who said it was coming to an end? I'm sure you are a liar and anyone who reads your little Vietnam tag will have the same suspicions. I know there are some Marines who disagree with the war, and I don't know any who actually want war at any time. However, the statements you are making, I have yet to hear from a Marine, but have often heard this from people who try to authenticate their anti-war statements by saying they "know" someone or are related. Take it somewhere else.
p.s. Any soldier who has served in any war is free to criticize it however he/she wants to. Let them do the talking like the para trooper who listed above.

Peanut B- I can't recall that "every bill" has been vetoed by the President. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, the only budget that has been proposed has just passed the Senate and the President is threatening to veto it. This President has been criticized repeatedly for only using his veto pen once. Chances are it will be vetoed, but your statement is false and misleading. Try and get your info and news somewhere besides blogs.

so in 9 months service he comes Home to a Piece of Krap like you? I hope he shoots you after kicking your fagass (much like you were in Vietnam)

Is this a nice letter to send to my Nephew in the Marines?
Dear Nephew, First of all let me tell you I hope you are ok and you stay safe. But you must beware of the truth. And the truth? The Insurgents are going to win. That's right. WIN!! Why? Because they have a real purpose and they are willing to die for this purpose "AND" most of all they do it "FREE". That's correct. They fight for free. If you Marines were told "You will not get a paycheck from this day forward" you silly Marines would quit and go home. But not the insurgents. They never get a paycheck and yet they fight you day in and day out. So the Insurgents will win and my Nephew will taste defeat. That's the hard truth. My nephew will taste the sting of bitter defeat. The Insurgents will taste sweet victory and will dance the dance of the winners. But don't worry nephew....Burger King is still hiring. ( Note: It's owned by an Arab ) enjoy the Proud Marines. Later. Your uncle Erudite.

Note:... He joined the Marines 6 weeks ago.

you....

Well then they have obviously bought into the lies of the defeatist leftests who have been saying that since the war began. They are obviously listening to these democrats instead of seeing what good they have done since being in Iraq.
Your Marine Nephew and his Marine friends are the exception, not the norm. I guarantee that.
Tell them if that is how they think then they should probably go AWOL and get out of the military because the rest of us don't want them around, because they are going to bring everyone else down.

in step with danger he shouldn't of joined the militia. i'm sorry yet as an officer in the militia I knew i could have a guess to pass to Iraq. The conflict has been occurring for years yet I nevertheless joined. Going to that protest in uniform is an afront to anybody in the militia that have long previous to Iraq. If he would not desire to pass to Iraq, tell him to get out!

its true, there has not been one thing thats good that came out of this war, the Marines are getting sick of being away from there families and fighting a war for a president who shouldn't be in office in the first place, not only that but every bill we have posted to pull the troops out slowly has been vetoed by the president, the president already proven that he don't care about the troops who is over there and the troops just want to go home. and if you support for them to stay over there you need to go over there and watch your friends die in front of you too. thats including the stupid president too.

I seem to recall, that the US congress is trying to pass a bill, or what they call those, that would pull US out of Iraq by october.

Not that the war would actually end there, it just stops being your problem... Bloody mess it is...

I think you should fight it out... You start, you finish. Might teach your leadership to not be that gung-ho about death and destruction...

Having done my time over there, I agree. Went to war over lies, we didn't have adequate troops, equipment, or an understanding of what to do once the major combat was done. It's a shame that if you say that you are labled some kind of traitor. Of course most of the people saying that haven't even been in the military.

And don't listen to butterbar bob or stupid marxist. it's easy to call someone a coward if you have never been in a war, and I don't mean sitting in some office or resting on a FOB. So until they find themselves in a situation where there lives are on the line EVERYDAY, when you are so scared you want to s**t your pants but you go forward anyway, or they have actually had people shoot at them, they are obviously idiots.

just noticed i got 3 thumbs down! For what??? Is it because I put MY life on the line and don't agree with the war??? Am I not qualified??? Or maybe it's people who want to take a stand on the war but don't want to hear the details?

My older brother is in the Marines and he has never said any such thing.

Are you sure? I mean they want to come home but not for just any thing.

Is he "shell shocked"? Maybe you better check.
