If you don't believe in what is true then you believe in what is false. Christianity is the only true believe, the reason is simple, only christian saints can perform miracles other religions can't, only christian priests can exorcist other religion's priests can't, and only christians can be forgiven from sins because our savior Jesus die on the cross for the sake of the people, but if people doesn't believe in Jesus then they won't get to haven. why? the reason is simple jesus take your sins and he suffered for you, but if you doesn't believe in him then he can't help you, and if he can't help you redeem then guess where you are going to end up. So can you atlest open your eyes and see the truth?

Atheist is not the opposite of Christian. There are a lot of religions besides Christianity. Someone who practices one of those religions would not be labeled as atheist, they'd be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim, etc.

Well, look at it this way. Some other people feel that way about THEIR religion. Seems like you don't know much about other religions. Someone of a different religion told me the same thing you've told me. But you know what? Do you know why I'm NOT Christian? Because it's just so forceful. It basically says, "Believe what we believe or you'll die." Now isn't that rude, just a little? And think of what you just said. "If people doesn't believe in Jesus then they won't get to heaven." Well, where's the proof of Heaven existing anyway? That's crazy talk to some people. Well...it's crazy talk to me, even. I still very much respect your beliefs. I won't try to bring you down at all. Just don't be one of those people who shove their religion in people's faces. That's as ignorant as can get, I think. If someone doesn't believe, they don't believe. End of story. So really, this question is really quite pushy, I think...in MY opinion.
Well, have a good day.

I'm not an atheist, but you're pretty close to being one yourself. You deny the very real existence of multiple Gods and Goddesses that I worship. I am a polytheistic Asatruar.

We do not have priests or priestesses in our religion. Everyone in Asatru can perform 'miracles'. We do not have to 'exorcise' anyone in Asatru because all the beasties are having too much fun tormenting those who are actually afraid of them. We don't have a concept of 'sin' , just one of right and wrong, so your (not my) savior's sacrifice/execution means nothing to me. I do not have 'heaven', I have the Valhall among many other realms I may go after death - if I go anywhere at all. We do not all need 'redemption'. My soda cans need redemption, I don't.

Why can't you open your eyes and see THAT? Is ignorance built into your faith or is it genetic for you? Because that's exactly what you did - act ignorant. You rather falsely assumed everyone was Judeo-Christian OR atheist and therefore had the same cultural or religious background as you have. We are NOT all worshippers of a middle eastern prophet. Some of us belong to much older, more noble faiths. We let you worship your gods without judgment and you should do the same for us. It's called "basic human respect" and it is sadly lacking in you.

Assumptions are dangerous and inflammatory. You may want to avoid them in the future.

You are apparently not clear on what an 'atheist' is. An atheist is one who does not believe in any god or gods. Therefore, if I was a Muslim, or Jewish, or a Hindi, or any other of a variety of religions, I would NOT be an atheist even though I was also NOT a Christian.

You are confused about this, as you are also confused about the nature of belief. YOUR belief in Christianity and 'saints' and 'exorcism' etc. does not MAKE your belief 'true', it only makes it YOUR BELIEF. Most other religions believe that Christian belief in miracles and exorcism is PROOF that Christianity is FALSE. Did you know that? No, of course you didn't. Sorry.

Actually there's a long tradition of many many MANY miracle workers in all religions. There are an uncountable number of people who have claimed to have witnessed a miracle, exorcism, etc. of all faiths. Google Sathya Sai Baba, his "miracles" have been witness by an almost staggering amount of people, and he claims to have been born from a virgin. Look him up on you tube, prepare to be underwhelmed. Got me there on the forgiving of sin though, according to your religion you are in fact right, only Christians can get into Christian heaven. Rather exclusionary don't you think?

You disbelieve thousands of gods, and only believe the one your parents taught you about.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

You, my poor dear, are horrible undereducated. Exorcism existed before Judaism and in many other religions. Many people over many faiths have been credited with miracles (your beief in which I shall not address here). Only Christians have something to be forgiven for, the rest of us are able to spell and construct English sentences.

The truth is you're pretty confused...an atheist believes in no Supreme Deity. Whereas, Islam, Judaism and some varying smaller religions do believe in a Supreme Deity and would not be considered "Atheists".

well now. are you on this site to preach or ask a question. because it looks like you just want to make a statement. no real Christian would be so hypocritical and oblivious. Yah Jesus did die for our sins and everything but some of your info is pretty opinionated.

now what is your question than ??

How do you know it's true? Because a little book told you so?

How do you know one of the other religions isn't actually the right one, and your religious leaders have been lying to you all this time?

Or for that matter... What's the point of religion at all? Philosophical spirituality makes much more sense.

What a loaded "question".
